Structural Energy Therapy (SET) is an innovative full body rehabilitation technique that targets core structural imbalances causing pain. By combining cranial/structural therapy, myofascial unwinding techniques, and energy techniques with the first session alone, clients typically see significant long-term changes within moments.
By balancing core distortion collapse, it has become possible to directly release dysfunctional structural holding patterns and old behavioral emotional patterns stored in soft tissue for years – providing weight bearing support as well as restoring balance, strength, and function for all aspects of body wellness.
Cranial/Structural Techniques
Cranial/Structural Techniques are soft tissue energetic techniques employed in osteopathy-style bodywork. Cranial/Structural techniques differ significantly from cranial manipulation techniques as their goal is to release restrictions in the reciprocal tension membrane and dura of the cranium rather than shifting a bone into position, thus relieving any distortion that repeats throughout the body for structural balancing purposes. Cranial/Structural Techniques is a gentle yet noninvasive modality which improves cerebrospinal fluid flow thus activating self-healing mechanisms of the body more fully.
At the core of all imbalance and dysfunction lies an unbalanced core distortion pattern found within the skull, spine, and pelvis skeleton system. Don McCann of Tampa Florida developed Structural Energetic Therapy or SET (Lateral Myofascial Tendon Therapy/CSETT). Within SET (Cranial Structural Deep Tissue Myofascial Energy Release Technique). Sub-patterns that emerge are addressed using specific Cranial/structural, deep tissue Myofascial energy release techniques while energy movement techniques such as Kinesiology muscle testing techniques are employed alongside postural analysis techniques that target specific sub-patterns that emerge through specific Crannial/structure, deep tissue techniques as well as specific Craniary/structural/structural techniques; these release the subpatterns created. For long term results see it works extremely well.
As these restrictions are released, space opens up for rebalancing of both physical structure and nervous system to restore proper function in both. For many individuals this experience can be truly transformational and life-altering.
SET soft tissue protocols can also release myofascial holding patterns and scar tissue that maintain distortions that cause pain, weakness and dysfunction. Furthermore, they help rebalance hips, sacrum and rib cage as well as improve spinal alignment for more weight-bearing support.
These same soft tissue protocols and energy movements of Structural Energetic Therapy, developed by Don McCann LMHC, LMT, CSETT can be applied to the whole body for rehabilitation of structural imbalances that result in optimal function and reduced pain. This is at the core of Structural Energetic Therapy or SET. Sessions generally last 90 minutes and combine cranial/structural, myofascial, energy movements to effect lasting change within your body – making SET one of the most advanced forms of bodywork available today.
Soft Tissue Techniques
Soft Tissue Mobilization (STM) is one of the key manual therapy modalities employed by physical therapists to aid healing and mobility. By increasing tissue pliability, boosting circulation, breaking down scar tissue or adhesions and breaking them down quickly to accelerate recovery, soft tissue mobilization is one of the key elements in an effective rehabilitation plan for athletes or those experiencing persistent soft tissue discomfort. It is an integral component of effective sports injury recovery or chronic soft tissue discomfort management programs.
This hands-on approach utilizes various manual and instrument-assisted techniques, including myofascial release – using gentle sustained pressure to relax tight muscles and fascia; cross-friction massage for scar tissue breakdown; trigger point therapy to target painful muscle knots; and Graston Technique which uses an instrument like the Graston tool to massage soft tissues surface. These techniques have proven successful against conditions and injuries like back pain, neck pain, knee problems, hip issues, shoulder tension and plantar fasciitis.
STM can be invaluable in aiding recovery from sports injuries for athletes, as it helps improve joint mobility and decrease pain at the injured site. When combined with other manual techniques and exercises, STM can both speed recovery time as well as prevent future soft tissue discomfort.
SET can provide physical as well as emotional benefits. Clients have reported experiencing dramatic emotional and physical shifts after going through SET sessions, particularly with respect to direct releases of core structural distortion patterns.
Physical Therapists (PTs) can apply the precise pressure and contact required for these releases while monitoring intensity of client pain responses, ensuring safe work within each person’s tolerance level and comfort level. As tissue begins to loosen and release its rigidity during initial sessions, some discomfort should be expected; discomfort should subside over time as tissues unwind and soften.
Many clients who receive regular SET treatments report reduced pain in their body and an ease in daily activities without experiencing as much stiffness or stiffness. Furthermore, it’s possible to incorporate SET treatments into a workout regime or training program for an upcoming event or competition.
Cranial/Structural Integration
Cranial/Structural Integration, more commonly referred to as SET (Structural Energetic Therapy), is a comprehensive full-body therapy designed to restore maximum rehabilitation of physical conditions that cause pain, disoordination and imbalance. It combines cranial/structural balance with specific directed myofascial unwinding techniques and energy movement techniques in order to release torsion and imbalance in core and skull region, creating long term structural homeostasis and balance in long term structure homeostasis. Additionally specialized soft tissue protocols allow complete release of primary core imbalances caused by old structural patterns that were no longer serving you leaving restrictive fibers or adhesions within soft tissues of body’s soft tissues causing primary core imbalances to exist for long term structural homeostasis to exist long term structural homeostasis by dispensing with old patterns that no longer serve you leaving restricted fibers or adhesions that were no longer serving you by leaving restricted fibers or adhesions resulting from these.
This work has also been known to lead to powerful emotional release and healing for clients, making this an honor. Sessions typically last ninety minutes.
Structural Energetic Therapy
Structural Energetic Therapy, or SET, is a full body therapy designed to produce maximum rehabilitation of physical conditions and structural imbalances that lead to discomfort, dysfunction and disequilibrium in its clients. This method integrates cranial structure, deep tissue myofascial unwinding techniques and energy techniques into one comprehensive healing approach developed by Don McCann of Tampa FL as part of his Comprehensive System of Healing (CSET). CSET utilizes specific directed myofascial unwinding sequences and energy movements which release tension from within core of skull/Spinal column/Core Core that will restore balance for long term health and performance benefits in clients.
