How to Do Distant Reiki Healing

Reiki practitioners use the distant healing symbol, which links time and space, to send Reiki energy out across time or space to individuals, animals, events in the past or future, locations around the globe and more. This powerful tool is available only to second-degree attuned Reiki practitioners.

A 2024 study concluded that distant Reiki successfully reduced stress and pain levels among healthcare professionals exposed to stressful environments, while simultaneously increasing mood and vitality.

Preparation

At the core of any healing session lies getting permission from those you intend to heal. This can be done either verbally or written, with verbal approval coming directly from them or their next-of-kin/guardian if they cannot give permission themselves (such as unconscious patients). As it would not be ethical to perform energy healing without receiving explicit consent from its recipients; if in doubt about ethics of this approach then simply offer Reiki – they can make their decision about accepting it or not themselves.

Reiki is a system for sharing love with others and helping them heal themselves. Babies know instinctively how to love.

Activating the Symbol

At second-degree Reiki training, practitioners learn a symbol that allows them to access someone’s energetic essence and use this energy for healing purposes, regardless of whether the person is present or absent – an approach known as absent or distant Reiki.

The Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen symbol is especially useful for performing distance reiki healing as it helps bridge time and space. Furthermore, its power amplifies that of other Reiki symbols while increasing universal life force energy flow – thus being used to heal past wounds, support current needs, and manifest future goals.

This symbol is frequently employed to address relationship problems between family, friends, colleagues, or partners. It works to soothe emotions behind disagreements or disputes between people by helping them see each other’s perspectives and find common ground. Furthermore, this approach may also aid those grieving a loss by helping them forgive and move past grief more quickly.

Another use for the symbol is as a protection from negative energies that might be picked up from certain environments or people, especially when living in urban or high crime environments where psychic attacks may be more frequent. Drawing it around a person or their home and activating it increases protective strength; this method can especially come in handy if living near busy traffic jams where psychic attacks might happen more regularly.

This symbol can also help when dealing with fear, anxiety or anger in yourself or clients. Simply activate and place the symbol over your heart chakra and solar plexus – using its energy to calm these emotions and clear away fogginess in your thinking. Remembering it takes time and being patient are keys components of using mindfulness which allows us to let emotions pass without holding onto them too tightly.

Sending Reiki

Reiki practitioners attune themselves to specific energy frequencies that allow them to access an endless source of healing current that they can pass along to their patients. Reiki has proven its efficacy for treating pain, anxiety, depression and many other conditions as well as supporting natural healing abilities alongside traditional treatment approaches.

Reiki can be sent remotely or in-person; depending on the circumstances, however, it’s often best for clients and animals alike. Appointments with their practitioner and an open mindset when receiving the session is most beneficial; alternatively, practitioners could use affirmations or prayer prayers to prepare and focus them for this treatment session.

Before beginning a session of Reiki healing, it’s essential to set an intention of love and peace for the recipient. Some find this helpful through clearing their home using a cleansing ritual (Kenyoku). When conducting sessions themselves, practitioners should allow energy to flow through them unhindered by talking; rather allow its healing properties take over their bodies naturally.

After each Reiki session, it’s essential to return the space back into order. Reciting an affirmation or prayer can help reconnect you to the energy within. Tao Hands healers may use the Reiki Purifying Breath technique or meditate prior to sessions for this.

Sending Reiki long distance can be an effective way of supporting an individual or animal’s spiritual, mental and physical well-being. Reiki works regardless of time or space constraints – whether someone believes in its power or not!

At home, beginners looking to practice Reiki may benefit from creating a Reiki “box.” Write the names of animals you would like to share Reiki with on a piece of paper with loving intentions and place it inside a container that can be stored safely. Next, set your intentions, strengthen positive emotions, and visualize beautiful healing energy radiating out toward those you care about.

Receiving Reiki

At a distance Reiki session, the recipient lies or sits comfortably and focuses on their receptive experience. They may close their eyes and imagine golden or white healing light filling their body, or an idyllic flower, waterfall or sun rising in the distance; often feeling calmer and more at peace as Reiki flows in; depending on individual needs they may even want to focus specifically on an issue or problem that needs attention.

Libby recommends clients set an intention or goal for each session, such as breaking an unhealthy habit or increasing energy. This helps the client enter an open state of mind and is essential in receiving Reiki treatments.

As with the Reiki practitioner, setting an intention can also set the tone for their session. They might recite an affirmation, prayer or mantra such as Tao Hands Reiki’s Harmonayo mantra (“be well” in Japanese). This allows the practitioner to access oneness consciousness and connect with the person whom they’re sending energy too.

Next, the practitioner activates the distant healing symbol and visualizes or mentally says their name; they may even write or draw it down on an index card and send Reiki in its direction.

As they administer Reiki to each aspect of a person’s being–physical, emotional and mental–the practitioner might visualize that they feel loved and supported as energy is sent through to their emotions; on an intellectual level they might visualize that solutions to perplexing problems come easily or that any anxieties have passed without incident.

Spiritual energy healing also involves sending energy directly into their spiritual being, with the goal of reconnecting them to their soul and reigniting their flame. At the end of a Reiki session, clients can see that Reiki has filled their spirit or essence with a beautiful golden glow that connects to an even higher source of guidance.
