# Hinge Health Acquires Enso High Frequency Impulse Therapy

Hinge Health will acquire medical device maker Enso to enhance its musculoskeletal (MSK) therapy solutions. Enso has produced a noninvasive device proven in double-blind clinical trials to reduce pain and enhance functional mobility without medications or surgery.

Enso participants experienced 2x more pain relief and 3x increased mobility than participants using a control sham device in a new randomized clinical study.

## Pain Relief

San Francisco–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Hinge Health’s Enso, an FDA-cleared device with FDA clearance from Hinge Health, demonstrated remarkable pain relief and functional mobility improvement over four weeks compared to a control sham device in its initial research trial in Journal of Pain Research. Personalized physical therapist-led care also contributed significantly to success for this wearable technology device.

## No Surgery

Hinge Health announced Monday the acquisition of medical device maker Enso, which has been proven in double-blind clinical trials to significantly decrease back pain by 56% and increase mobility three-fold without drugs or surgery. Enso’s noninvasive electrical stimulation treatment calms muscles and nerves to ease chronic and acute pain relief; controlled via an app on patients’ smartphones – easily administered at home; already covered by four out of five employers and health plans offering digital MSK solutions such as Hinge Health.

Patients seeking care for chronic lower back pain (CLBP) were randomly assigned either the FDA-cleared Enso device or a sham control device in this randomized controlled trial, self-applying their devices and controlling duration and intensity via smartphone apps, with study coordinators reaching out three times weekly to answer any queries and resolve technical issues. Enso participants experienced two times more pain reduction, 2.5x better walking speed improvement on Six Minute Walk Test, as well as improving mobility 3 times on Timed Up and Go Test; these results were published in Journal of Pain Research.
