As an energy healer, it is both an honor and a significant responsibility to serve clients trusting in them for both physical and psychological wellbeing. A practitioner should uphold basic codes of ethics that foster this important relationship with his\/her clientele.<\/p>\n
Responsible practice requires clear communication with patients. This involves clearly outlining credentials so patients can verify training and licensure of practitioners; and offering honest representation, with clear explanations about what will be included in each session, any supplements provided, etc.<\/p>\n
Practitioners must never cross inappropriate boundaries when dealing with clients, including touching private parts or asking for disrobing (unless it’s part of a session such as Reiki). When extreme psychiatric cases arise, practitioners should immediately refer them back to their doctor or call a crisis line; complementary practitioners must not advise stopping medical or psychological care as this could have serious repercussions if hospitalization becomes necessary or they risk harming themselves.<\/p>\n
