The Radionics D9124 and D2071A UL Listed Fire Alarm Panels

The D9124 is a 24 VDC conventional fire alarm control panel approved for use with complex alarm systems found in schools, universities, manufacturing plants, health care facilities and health care providers. UL listing includes Central Station Local Auxiliary Remote Station applications.

A Trouble ZN 9 Report is generated when battery levels fall below 20% or the alarm initiating circuit malfunctions, providing a way for individuals to track down any potential issues and identify sources of confusion. This provides an effective means of tracking issues as soon as they appear.

Product Description

Radionics D9124 controls complex alarm systems found in schools, universities, manufacturing plants and health care facilities. With keyed controller access and being UL Listed for Central Station, Local, Auxiliary and Remote Station fire applications. Furthermore, its built-in digital alarm communicator transmitter (DACT) sends messages over two telephone lines. In its basic configuration the D9124 supports up to 127 points of detection or supervision while expansion modules can expand it up to 246 points of supervision/detection/supervision points if needed.

This panel is compatible with a comprehensive array of Radionics/Bosch Security Systems initiating and indicating devices, including smoke detector heads and bases, photo-electronic detector heads and bases, duct and pipe heat detectors, motor bells, horns and strobes, notification appliance circuits with up to 2.5 amps of 24 volt power for motor bells horns strobes bells; its restricted access function keys enable silencing alarm and trouble conditions, zone bypassing, detector resetting resetting & testing.

The D9124 also boasts direct communications to a Central Station Monitoring Facility for accurate information sharing, allowing them to determine whether an alarm signal is genuine or caused by an operator attempting to silence a nuisance condition, for instance. Diagnostic reports sent back by this system help Central Station quickly provide prompt service when required by any fire alarm system in need. It can even act as a slave application monitoring an existing FACP via zone 1 mode 2 monitoring an alarm output via mode 1. A 1.8k EOL resistor must be present on each line connection connection for proper functioning.

Product Specifications

The D2071A DACT is a three-zone digital alarm communicator transmitter used for Central Station Fire, Local Alarm and Auxiliary Alarm applications. Utilizing two phone lines to transmit alarms and communicate with fire control panels, this DACT has been certified UL listed for these uses.

Radionics fire panels may be linked together in either a shared zone network or Report and Control Network for use, supporting up to three additional radionics panels per network in each case. It supports up to 127 detection/supervision points when configured as the base system configuration; expansion may be extended up to 252 points by adding D8024 addressable polling loop modules; two Notification Appliance Circuits provide up to 2.5 amps of 24V power for operation of horns/strobes/bells and other notifications appliances while using restricted Access Function Keys which enable silencing/trouble conditions as well as zone bypassing, detector resetting and other fire functions functions within its range.

This unit comes equipped with a back-up battery that provides up to 15 minutes of backup power for communication functions and program record data, along with an easy front panel interface for diagnosing and maintaining purposes. Furthermore, there is also a 500 event memory log and alarm verification.

Mounting Tabs Its The mountable D2071A is designed for installation on flat surfaces with its optional Initiating Circuit Alarm Relay attached. This enables easy use in slave and stand-alone applications without connecting it directly to an existing fire alarm control panel.

Installation Instructions

The D2071A is compatible with most conventional fire detection systems and can connect directly to ionization, photo-electronic, and conventional smoke detector heads and bases as well as various 12 and 24-volt notification appliances like motor bells, horns and strobes.

The D2071A can be programmed using the Bosch D5200 Programmer (P/N 74-06176-000). Before installing or using this device, it is advisable that you become acquainted with its programming instructions and D5203 Product Handler program as well as all possible programming options available (for more details see D5200 Programmer Operation Manual); additionally the D2071A also comes equipped with error codes which help determine its source.

Installation Instructions

This 24 VDC UL listed fire alarm panel supports up to 246 points and can be used in applications including schools, universities, manufacturing plants and healthcare facilities. It is approved by FM, CSFM and NYC-MEA for fire, intrusion/intrusion and smoke detection as well as offering initiating/indicating devices designed to meet all NFPA 72 regulations.

This panel supports both unsupervised and supervised point identification. With two expansion slots, plug-in polling circuit modules can expand addressable points up to 252, giving your fire alarm panel maximum flexibility when configuring and operating it.

The D2071A also comes equipped with an alarm relay and trouble output that allow it to monitor the status of its system and respond appropriately. These components can detect conditions like FACP malfunction, sprinkler valve tampering or system reset as well as sending out 2300Hz acknowledgment tones.

Before installing the D2071A, carefully read its Operating and Installation Manual which contains a schematic diagram as well as detailed descriptions of its features. Furthermore, if you plan to use it with the D5200 Programmer make sure to update its program using the latest version of its Operation Manual (P/N: 74-06176-000).

Be certain that the electrical environment in which you install the D2071A is suitable for its intended use. Protect it from direct sunlight, rain and other inclement weather while positioning it between 50 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit temperature ranges.

Once you are ready to install the D2071A, locate a flat mounting surface and secure it using one of the provided adhesive strips. Make sure that both strips adhere correctly and wires do not interfere with bonding surface.

Once the D2071A has been mounted securely, connect its power cord to an appropriate 115 VAC outlet and ensure that its terminals and connectors remain undamaged and undisturbed.

Warranty

DSC warrants to the original purchaser of this product that it will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for one year from date of purchase. When returning it to DSC, they will repair or replace any defective parts at their discretion; if one cannot be fixed or replaced they will issue a credit back for product costs owed by original purchaser. This warranty stands alone and in place of all other expressed or implied warranties (such as merchantability or fitness for particular purpose warranties) obligations or liabilities of DSC.
