Frequency Specific Microcurrent Therapy Reviews
FSM frequencies stimulate cells at a cellular level to foster genuine healing, unlike TENS that only temporarily relieves symptoms. FSM attacks the source of pain instead.
FSM therapy can be an excellent way to address chronic pain, slow healing or injuries that refuse to go away. Furthermore, FSM makes an ideal addition to any relaxation therapy program.
What is FSM?
FSM (Frequency Selective Magnetotherapy) is an exciting form of treatment that uses electromagnetic frequencies naturally generated within your body to facilitate cell repair, reduce inflammation and speed healing. As an noninvasive therapy it has minimal side effects compared to traditional approaches and could revolutionise pain management and recovery for individual patients.
TENS uses very low amperage current (measured in microamps – about one thousandth of what’s found in TENS units) combined with specific frequencies to stimulate various tissues and conditions within the body. Applying these specific frequencies appears to restart your body’s healing systems – inflamation is reduced, scar tissue begins remodeling itself and pain relief becomes available almost immediately; scars soften, trigger points become less painful, swelling drains away within minutes after applying the appropriate frequency; patients report relief between treatments while some even experience permanent changes over time.
Researchers conducted longitudinal comparisons of somatic symptoms, satisfaction with life, perceived stress levels, emotional distress levels and emotion regulation over time between three groups: experimental group 1–EG1), relaxation alone (active control group -ACG) and twelve placebo FSM therapy sessions (12 placebo sessions of FSM therapy-PCG). Within-group analyses demonstrated significant improvements across all three groups compared at T2 for somatic symptoms, satisfaction with life, negative emotions (especially negative emotional regulation), as well as emotion regulation with respect to each. More improvement occurred for EG1 over ACG at T2 while for emotional regulation more improvements were seen between groups 3 as opposed to PCG at T1. Within group analyses demonstrated both groups experienced significant improvements over ACG at T2, while more significant improvement could be observed between EG1 than ACG; while when it came to emotional regulation at T1.
Although this research indicates FSM as a promising treatment, it’s important to keep in mind that this study relied solely on self-reported measures of somatic symptoms, satisfaction with life, perceived levels of stress and negative emotions, emotional functioning and functioning overall. Future RCTs should include objective physiological indicators in order to accurately gauge its effects.
How Does FSM Work?
Frequency-specific microcurrent therapy uses low-level electrical current to address pain and injury in the body. FSM works to promote healing cells, reduce inflammation and speed up natural repair processes in your body. However, unlike traditional electrical therapies which employ generic frequencies that target all tissues equally; instead it employs specific frequencies tailored specifically towards each tissue and condition being addressed by FSM therapy.
FSM remains unclear in its exact workings; however, it is believed to work by increasing production of Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP), the source of energy for all cell activity in our bodies. Furthermore, FSM could alter endorphin release for pain management purposes as well.
FSM may help reduce pain by heating and loosening muscles, providing relief for stiffness and joint discomfort. Furthermore, FSM is thought to work on nerves by altering how they send pain signals; similar to how transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) works.
While more research needs to be completed, many practitioners have reported promising results with this treatment approach. It can help address a range of conditions including fibromyalgia, myofascial pain syndrome and chronic injuries; especially effective for patients who have proven resistant to other therapies.
Due to how individual cells and tissues respond differently to different frequencies, FSM therapy can be customized specifically for every patient’s situation. A trained practitioner can set their device so as to deliver two channels of frequencies – one designed specifically to target the condition being treated and another aligning with specific tissue types – this dual approach plays a critical role in its efficacy.
FSM therapy can provide relief for conditions including nerve and muscle pain, scar tissue formation and sports-related sprains and strains, swelling reduction and improved mobility – and can even support brain tissue recovery after concussions. Depending on its frequency used, FSM may help with conditions like these.
FSM treatment is noninvasive and typically comes without adverse side effects, making it an attractive alternative to surgery or medication. Some individuals should avoid FSM, such as those with implanted pumps or pacemakers, those pregnant and cancer.
What are the Benefits of FSM?
FSM therapy stimulates tissues on a cellular level, stimulating healing rather than just masking pain. Microcurrent also restores your body’s natural balance and sense of wellbeing – unlike TENS units which simply temporarily relieve symptoms by interrupting pain signals in the brain. FSM addresses its source and offers long-term relief.
Participants were randomly assigned to six sessions of either frequency specific microcurrent therapy alone (experimental group 1–EG1) or in combination with relaxation intervention (experimental group 2–EG2). Both EG1 and EG2 showed significant reductions in somatic symptoms of stress, perceived emotional distress, emotion regulation difficulties, negative emotions and serenity when compared with both ACG and PCG; neither group saw significant effects in terms of satisfaction with life or somatic symptoms related to stress reduction; these results did not differ between ACG or PCG participants.
Studies conducted between 2004 and 2007 examined how FSM or relaxation could increase positive emotions among participants, with those assigned to Experimental Group 1 reporting more positive emotions than those assigned to ACG or PCG groups, but their effects on positivity, excitement, and warmth were similar for all three interventions. This suggests that neither FSM nor relaxation interventions could trigger the positive feelings associated with achievement or social support; rather both interventions proved effective at alleviating depression anxiety negative emotions.
At both sessions, both groups experienced significant decreases in somatic symptoms of stress and levels of satisfaction with life, perceived stress levels, emotional disturbance, emotion regulation difficulties, negative emotions and feelings of serenity. While FSM proved more effective at improving adaptive emotional functioning than relaxation did, its improvement had lasting results with EG1 showing better long-term effects than its counterpart in EG2.
FSM differs from TENS in that instead of applying pain-killing electrical pulses through electrodes, FSM applies frequencies tailored specifically for your condition – enabling Optimal Health of Southern Oregon to target it effectively with long-term benefits that usually last months or years before maintenance sessions are necessary.
How Long Does FSM Last?
FSM utilizes a battery-operated device to deliver low electrical currents to various parts of the body. Your practitioner will apply moistened towels or skin patches over areas to be treated before setting a frequency appropriate for you and your condition – most people don’t even feel it at all!
Currents generated from FSM treatment mimic your body’s natural electric signals to stimulate cellular repair, alleviating pain, reducing inflammation, and remodeling scar tissue. They’re safe and require no downtime – think of it like rebooting a slow computer! When tissues and cells stop communicating properly due to pain, injury or chronic inflammation, FSM helps restore balance that supports healing.
Massage therapy can be an invaluable asset in relieving muscle and nerve pain caused by conditions like fibromyalgia or diabetic neuropathy. Furthermore, it has the power to remodel scar tissue which often proves resistant to healing efforts.
Life Moves Manual Therapies incorporates Functional Structural Modulation into our treatment plans for clients experiencing muscle and nerve pain, helping them by altering how their body sends and receives pain signals, similar to TENS therapy.
FSM has also been proven to boost production of ATP (energy), speeding up healing in the body. Furthermore, FSM helps regulate nervous systems by correcting chemical imbalances that often result in pain or stress.
FSM results have been astounding, though more scientific examination is still required. We’ve witnessed injuries heal quickly and clients with chronic pain find relief after just two or three treatments.
FSM is a safe option for nearly everyone, as its noninvasive nature and complement to other therapies make it noninvasive and great complement. However, individuals with pacemakers or implanted defibrillators, pregnant women and those who wear contact lenses should not undergo FSM treatments. FSM may cause skin irritation if its pads or towels come into contact with sensitive parts of the body – to avoid this happening it’s essential that on the day of your session drink plenty of water and follow any instructions given from your provider regarding drinking hydration requirements and any restrictions as these could interfere with its effectiveness and should also avoid caffeine/stimulants which could interfere with its effectiveness.
