Tinnitus Frequency Therapy

What is it?

Tinnitus, or tinnitus, is a condition where one or both ears experience sounds such as ringing, clicking, buzzing, hissing or whooshing noises that may sound similar to ringing or clicking sounds. Tinnitus can either be temporary – after attending a concert or working near loud equipment for example – or last months or years and interfere with daily life and cause depression, anxiety, sleep issues and other negative health impacts for some individuals.

While there are various treatments for tinnitus, internationally extended practical guidelines recommend counseling combined with sound therapy (TRT). TRT involves using sound masking of the frequency that causes the tinnitus; customized audio stimuli are played through headphones while users listen for one hour each day with headphones on to reduce volume of tinnitus noise; overtime, their brain becomes trained to ignore this noise in favor of other sounds within its frequency range.

The clinical trial results were impressive. Out of 83 participants who completed treatment, 96% achieved clinically meaningful relief (defined as a reduction of their Tinnitus Handicap Index (DTHI) by more than 20%). Re-evaluation after four week therapy pause confirmed these results and demonstrated the efficacy of Acoustic CR stimulation by significantly improving loudness, annoyance, abnormal synchrony reduction as well as effective neural connectivity (measured with high density EEG).

According to the tonotopic reorganization model, peripheral hearing loss reduces output from damaged cochlear regions leading to decreased lateral inhibition in frequency areas affected by hearing loss causing hyperexcitability and increased neural synchrony. Researchers found that acoustic CR stimulation with an appropriately pitched-matched tinnitus tone produced acute clinical results within 15 minutes, including significant decreases in perceived loudness and annoying quality as evidenced by improvements to VAS scores for loudness and bothersomeness; additionally it resulted in reductions of delta band power over auditory cortex currents or reconstruction of auditory cortex currents and prolonged masking effects for tinnitus symptoms.

How does it work?

Consistency and frequency are at the core of sound therapy’s success. Following an established schedule can train your brain to recognize tinnitus less frequently and eventually stop hearing it altogether, but this process may take months, so don’t give up when relief doesn’t arrive right away.

Thus, experts often recommend spending at least four hours each day listening to this type of frequency therapy for your tinnitus frequency therapy.

Tinnitus frequency therapy differs from other tinnitus therapies in that it targets your specific tinnitus frequencies rather than hearing loss; thus, even if you have significant hearing loss, sound can still help alleviate your tinnitus symptoms.

Spooky2 Frequency List

Spooky2 should be installed into the C:/Spooky2 folder on your computer. Simply double click this folder to access it.

Since its last release, various new functions and capabilities have been integrated into the program, such as saving and restoring all settings – such as frequency sets and waveforms.

BIO

Once you launch Spooky2, a window will appear asking you to verify the Setup Settings. Click “Yes.”

Click Finish when the installer has successfully transferred files onto your computer.

Navigating to the Spooky2 folder on your hard drive and double clicking its Shortcut in either Desktop or Taskbar to launch its beta version is now simple – once launched you can close out of its window or pin it quickly for quick access later.

VEGA

The Programs tab opens, showing factory DNA, Base Pairs, Molecular Weight and Main databases plus any you have stored in your own custom file. There are also two new tabs called Advanced and Settings which provide more advanced features and settings options.

The “- Button” will empty out all error report boxes.

Clinicians may enter notes into this text box that will then be appended to the error log and/or sent out via emails, depending on whether or not the Email Button has been checked.

Spooky2‘s dickable circles (red buttons) represent and control one physical generator. Clicking one activates and clicking another deactivates. Zoom in or out with the arrows above each circle while using the + Button to increase zoom levels. To save frequency sets or waveforms simply dick one; all settings, programs, frequencies that were memorised in Channels are saved too!

CAFL

The “YES” button indicates your approval of Spooky2‘s license agreement while “NO” indicates rejection.

Spooky2 comes preloaded with Preset Collections that you can choose from or you can create User collections of your own. Each collection comes equipped with its own settings and programs; selecting any will load all programs within that collection as well as presets (if applicable).

This menu allows you to set global controls for amplitude and frequency fluctuations on generators. Furthermore, gating can be enabled or disabled on outputs – ideal for use when dealing with very high frequencies used for healing or zapping applications.

The Screenshot Button takes a snapshot of your current Spooky2 window and saves it as a JPG file to your Data folder. Alternatively, press and hold down Alt as you click programs to capture snapshots to help with troubleshooting. For advanced users who require further assistance when troubleshooting issues with specific programs or USB communications logs/summaries are provided in Advanced Menu j.

XTRA

Spooky2 features powerful tools for creating and storing frequencies in custom databases. Clinicians can save the entire program, including frequency set and waveforms, as a Preset to quickly apply it to patients without having to reenter settings individually each time the program relaunches.

Carrier sweeps provide a wider range of frequencies over a predefined time period, while modulation sweeps focus all frequencies onto one specific area. Both types can be made for specific lengths of time depending on each patient’s requirements.

The Graphs menu displays various data for each channel, such as frequencies that are currently being applied to the generator. You can scroll the graphs using mouse wheel scrolling, while font size can be changed between 8pt and 16pt by sliding a handle slider handle between 8pt and 16pt. Clicking on Graph will start and stop scan.

CUST

Here you’ll find a complete list of frequencies contained within both main and custom databases, including factory databases like DNA, Base Pairs, Molecular Weight and the main one as well as any collections you may have added to your custom file.

Each red button represents and controls one physical generator in your rig; up to 127 in total can be found here. Each generator is known in Spooky 2 as a Channel; your rig may support up to this maximum number.

At the top left of this window is a graph and various controls, including a Frequency Blacklist control for blocking specific frequency sets and a Screenshot button that makes an instant snapshot of Spooky2 window for saving in Data folder as JPG file. If you are having trouble getting Spooky2 communicating with generators this pane will assist with debugging them while the other control allows you to write USB capture logs which will also assist with diagnosing problems.

RIFE

Spooky2 allows for remote treatments utilizing DNA signatures – you can send frequencies directly into someone else’s body by reading their unique DNA signature using Quantum Entanglement technology and sending it along as part of their treatment. Simply take a DNA sample (blood, fingernail or hair), upload it and Spooky2 will read it before sending their frequencies through their body!

RIFE also features an option that enables it to produce H-Bomb and sine wave waves.

Modulation Sweeps can also be performed. The frequency application time setting determines how long frequencies will be applied in this mode.

Spooky2 can control each physical generator in your rig individually; or you can configure one channel to be controlled by multiple generators; this feature is enabled via the Settings Menu and is useful for both gating and feathering as well as controlling multiple frequencies simultaneously.

HC

The XTRA program is an informative database featuring numerous beneficial frequencies that may assist with various health conditions. Furthermore, its frequency programs can be imprinted onto water through quantum entanglement to stimulate DNA repair and aid detoxification processes. Biofeedback scanners detect MORs and “Yes/No” body reactions while global transport controls allow multi-generator rigs with pause scheduling as well as updating of database online; in addition to numerous controls that manage generator communication and graphic displays.

Once you have confirmed the installation settings, click Finish to complete the process and open Spooky2. Now, navigate through its settings, presets, and graphs – with a first time launch of Spooky2, the following messages should appear at the top of the screen:

ALT

The ALT frequency database is constructed from the same database used in HC, but with different frequencies. It provides much greater coverage with frequencies up to and beyond 50,000Hz and excellent at eliminating pathogens.

The new ALT database is specifically tailored for use with the Spooky Boost 2.0 signal processor, featuring dedicated outputs for each Remote model, pass through connections for Out 1 and Out 2, as well as optimized outputs that facilitate manufacturing of high-quality colloidal silver solutions.

Other changes include global transport controls for multi-generator rigs, individual signal gating on each output, run and pause scheduling and Autostart. Users may select from several frequency sets (frequency sets and waveforms) at startup as well as customizing each frequency set for individual sessions. Furthermore, the ALT database can be updated online while all settings can be saved to a file for future use.

QUEST

The QUEST tab allows you to choose the frequency sets, waveforms and settings you would like for your session. Additionally, it provides some useful utility controls like setting the USB communications protocol or writing out program logs for troubleshooting purposes.

Explore its advanced features as you explore this app.

As an example, you can customize the default duration for each frequency set if you plan on running them in Contact Mode for longer periods. This feature can help make frequencies run smoother when using Contact Mode or longer term frequency use.

Out 2 can also provide real time control over its output power (the “voltage factor”) and can make an enormous difference to your results. With compatible generators connected, this port may even support carrier waves.

Lessac-Madsen Resonant Voice Therapy PDF

Lessac-Madsen Resonant Voice Therapy PDF is a scientific approach for treating hoarseness. Katherine Verdolini initiated this program during the 2000s in honor of two mentors who contributed to resonant voice theory and motor learning.

Therapists use perceptual measures to guide clients toward the target behavior of resonant voice, which involves vibratory sensations on the anterior laryngeal ridge and ease in phonatory communication.

Voice Exercises

LMRVT stands apart from traditional voice therapy approaches by employing nonspeech exploratory exercises such as humming and pitch glides before quickly progressing to speech exercises with an aim of developing easy phonation. This approach allows therapists to evaluate a therapy program based on its impact in everyday speech production.

Resonant voice training begins with clinicians leading patients through full body introspection and observation to identify their best representations of resonant voice. From there, scanning, gel, show and tell, verbal instructions, scanning glasses or negative practice can all be employed to assist the learning process and attain their best voice representations. Negative practice (alternating between old habits and healthy voices) should also be included as an integral component of this process.

LMRVT goes beyond simply encouraging resonant voice; its voicing patterns are tailored to enhance vocal economy and reduce impact stress on the larynx. This is achieved with a physical yet perceptual easier pharyngeal posture than typical vocal behaviors; additionally, LMRVT’s articulators are placed to maximize vibrations in the anterior oral cavity and its vocal folds are configured in such a way as to minimize impact stress while still increasing output intensity.

Lessac7 proposed that three energies combine to produce the voice: structural action, tonal action and consonant action. Although voice structure can be established through BTG or through positioning articulators for maximum resonance with their optimal resonance positions; for resonant voice LMRVT has its own configuration of vocal folds unique for creating such resonance.

Resonant voice requires widening of vocal folds slightly wider than in an adducted, or loud voice quality, thus producing less intense VF oscillations and producing a sound which is quieter and breathy than usual. Resonant voices offer clear and easy-to-speak qualities and clinical research has proven them more successful at meeting daily voice demands than either an adducted or quiet voice option.

Vocal Hygiene Training

LMRVT (Lessac-Madsen Resonant Voice Therapy) emphasizes personalized self-care for the voice, including hydration and avoidance of laryngeal irritants as ways of lowering risk of nodules recurrences. Patients should talk softly for prolonged periods without using their voice for prolonged use, sleep well at night and make time for rest during the day to ensure overuse does not happen.

Traditional vocal hygiene instruction typically entails an extensive list of do’s and don’ts, including language such as “vocal misuse” and “vocal abuse.” Unfortunately, this approach to learning vocal hygiene was associated with adverse impacts on voice self-efficacy (Broaddus-Lawrence et al 2000). Nowadays, more individualized approaches to training include identification of aspects most likely to improve voice quality while decreasing nodule recurrence rates.

Professional voice users such as singers should take special precautions in using their voices professionally for extended periods, as loud phonation increases the risk of nodules and other issues in their voices.

Recent research indicates that combining LMRVT and vocal hygiene education significantly enhanced knowledge and self-rated characteristics of voice health among teachers with nodules. Although early results are promising, further analysis will be required to ascertain if LMRVT reduces nodule incidence or recurrence after initiating treatment programs.

Vocal hygiene is an integral component of LMRVT therapy and should be integrated as soon as possible into therapy sessions. Our goal is to equip our patients with tools and techniques necessary for avoiding and managing vocal injury so that they may live healthy, fulfilling lives.

As LMRVT evolves, there will be a need to further optimize and standardize voice therapy methodologies. This will ensure greater consistency when providing voice care services and ensure clients receive effective treatments.

Nodules Management

Lessac Madsen Resonant Voice Therapy (LMRVT) takes an integrative, physiological approach to resonant voice production that emphasizes sensory processing rather than performance. LMRVT directs vocal behavior towards producing resonant voices with minimal abduct/adduct laryngeal configuration – thus optimizing health of vocal mechanism while helping avoid fatigue and nodules in voice production.

Katherine Verdolini Abbott developed LMRVT in the early 2000s in honor of two eminent mentors, Arthur Lessac and Mark Madsen. The technique is founded upon resonant voice theory and motor learning principles and employs a scanning, probe-gel, demonstrate, and tell method for guided practice to monitor patients’ resonant voices until they achieve it.

The LMRVT program incorporates various techniques, such as negative practice and repeated training stimuli repetitions to encourage behavioral change and habit formation. These approaches have proven particularly successful at helping patients generalize their resonant voice to conversational speech contexts.

Patients suffering from chronic voice abuse who develop vocal cord nodules often improve their condition through six to 10 sessions of LMRVT over 6 to 12 weeks, but if nodules continue to persist and require surgical removal they must first be evaluated through biopsy to ascertain whether they are benign or malignant before proceeding further with voice therapy or radiation exposure may require voice-freezing treatment instead.

Post-Therapy Program

Maintaining the gains made in therapy through an aftercare plan that emphasizes voice hygiene can help patients prolong the effects of therapy. A personalized hygiene program tailored to each patient highlights specific points that pertain most to them; such as refraining from drinking acidic beverages or foods and keeping water bottles on hand at all times to stay hydrated; others may need advice regarding internal (bodily and psychological) and external practices that contribute to vocal abuse.

Resonant voices can be identified by vibratory sensations along the anterior alveolar ridge and an easeful vocal experience, both characteristic of LMRVT (Verdolini 2000). Resonance has also been proven statistically more effective than vocal rest in healing phonotraumatic lesions caused by excessive use or misuse.

LMRVT differs from many voice therapy techniques in that it uses perceptual measures to guide patients toward the desired behavior: producing resonant voice. Therapists encourage this goal by asking patients to produce sounds they find easy or pain-free; singing, whispering or “doesn’t hurt” articulations all count towards producing this result (Yiu, 2017). Studies have proven this approach more successful than VFE or tube phonation approaches to training the voice (Yiu 2017).

Though opinions regarding motor-learning in nonspeech and speech exercises for voice differ, most clinicians agree that resonant voice training leads to carryover into communication more successfully than other techniques like VFE and tube phonation which utilize nonspeech exploratory exercises before progressing onto semi-occlusions embedded in speech.

One issue to address is the potential risk that inspired patients may try speaking louder than is consistent with their resonant voice practice, increasing the risk of additional phonotrauma and necessitating early intervention from their therapist. Being aware that their inspired patients might attempt louder phonation before they are prepared is important to ensuring effective voice therapy services for these clients.

To maximize the effects of resonant voice therapy, therapists must encourage patients to practice these techniques daily and ideally throughout their lives in order to maintain its positive results and avoid relapse.
