Researching energy medicine
Research in energy medicine is rapidly growing as more scientists explore how subtle energies impact our health and well-being. Recently, a feasibility study was undertaken to evaluate the effect of energy healing treatment in hospital settings. Led by biofield science researcher Garret Yount, PhD and clinical researcher Helane Wahbeh ND MCR, 193 participants with carpal tunnel syndrome took part. Each received one 30-minute energy medicine session; outcomes were measured through self-report measures such as pain, expectation, well-being general health affect compassion creativity belief as well as heart rate synchrony between participant and practitioner and environmental measurements such as pH conductivity evanescence measurements were collected as part of this feasibility study.
The results of the study were encouraging: the authors discovered that energy healing can be safely used within hospital environments and integrated into regular pain management programs, providing benefits beyond pain relief to encompass whole-person transformation.
