George Church and Longevity by Design

george church reverse aging

George Church, professor of genetics at Harvard Medical School and prolific entrepreneur, is well-known for pioneering human genome sequencing and editing technologies. His lab employs these solutions to address viral infections, diseases and even extinct woolly mammoth populations.

He is working on an anti-aging vaccine utilizing CRISPR gene editing technology. A few shots could delay or reverse many age-related diseases at once.

1. Rejuvenate Bio

George Church, a professor of genetics at Harvard Medical School and well-known entrepreneur, has been developing gene therapies to combat aging. He believes that aging results from dysregulation of genes and proteins, and can be stopped by “restoring them back to the healthy state they had when younger.” Rejuvenate Bio has been developing RJB-01, which has demonstrated efficacy against multiple age-related diseases in mice. They intend to bring this treatment eventually to humans but have had difficulty raising funds; their San Diego gene therapy manufacturer recently laid off employees and reduced pipeline activity as reported on LinkedIn posts.

Rejuvenate Bio is employing CRISPR technology to add or boost specific genes in order to optimize their functionality, unlike other gene editing techniques which alter DNA strands or eliminate genes entirely.

Alongside their work in developing gene therapies, the company is also working on an anti-ageing vaccine designed to fight back against the effects of aging. The vaccine would specifically target inflammation and immune responses associated with getting older which contribute to chronic conditions like heart disease.

Rejuvenate Bio announced in 2023 that they had successfully treated an inherited form of arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy in mice using gene therapy that targeted key disease-mediating pathways. Gene therapy targeting FGF21, sTGFbR2, and aKlotho was demonstrated to significantly alleviate disease symptoms while protecting cardiac structure in animals, with its results published in Nature Medicine. Now, the team is gearing up to conduct human trials using gene therapy in an early-stage drug candidate called RJB-0402. If successful, gene therapy could treat multiple age-related diseases while increasing lifespan; trial completion is scheduled for 2025. Rejuvenate Bio’s Regenerative Medicine platform includes this treatment as part of its Rejuvenate Bio regenerative medicine platform, with ten distinct age-related diseases addressed including muscle loss, ineffective physical exercise responses and buildup of fat in bloodstream.

2. Rejuvenate Skin

Skin rejuvenation is an effective treatment designed to diminish fine lines and wrinkles on the face, as well as improve its texture. This procedure may be performed on either all or selected parts of the face – such as forehead or chin areas – or may be used specifically to reduce sun damage.

Your skin is the largest organ in your body, composed of three layers – epidermis, dermis and subcutis – with epidermis being the outer layer and composed primarily of dead cells; dermis being comprised of living skin cells; and subcutis being comprised of fat cells and connective tissue.

George Church is an expert in gene editing and genome sequencing who has used these technologies to reverse human cell aging, as showcased on 60 Minutes.

Recently, he formed Marble with Denitsa Milanova, his engineer-biotechnologist protege. This new company focuses on gene therapy methods to rejuvenate cells. They hope to have their product on the market within one year; similar to genetic Botox treatments it could help people look younger while feeling healthier.

3. Rejuvenate Cells

George Church is an esteemed geroscientist renowned for his research into gene therapy, or using drugs to correct mutations in DNA and restore normal function. One of the first to sequence a human genome, his lab now is developing gene therapies to reverse age-related diseases and extend life expectancies. Gil Blander interviewed George to learn how gene therapy could help us live longer, healthier lives.

Cellular reprogramming is one of the most promising approaches to combating aging. This process entails changing cells’ internal genetic programs so as to bring back an embryonic state, with promising results when tested on mice; potentially treating common diseases in humans too; however it has yet to be tried on us yet.

Researchers are employing RNA sequencing and gene network analysis to identify genes linked to the cellular aging process, and to search for ones that can reverse this clock and return cells back to younger states. They test these genes using iPSC-derived skin cells before differentiating into various tissue types.

Many theories exist regarding the cause and progression of aging; some scientists believe most of it stems from epigenetic changes; while others propose that most damage accumulates slowly over time and can be reversed by replacing damaged cells with healthy ones; Church believes the most efficient way to achieve this goal is reprogramming somatic cells into iPSCs and then further developing them into various desired cell types.

Church has founded Androcyte, which focuses on using CRISPR technology to reverse aging through editing the genomes of cells. His research could eventually be applied to reverse symptoms associated with illnesses including cancer. He’s working on gene therapies designed specifically for delivery directly into the brain in hopes that these may prevent Alzheimer’s from emerging.

Regenerative gene therapies that can treat all areas of the body would be revolutionary, yet development and testing would take years to achieve. Meanwhile, Androcyte is developing a product for dogs that targets multiple aging-related diseases simultaneously, which should provide much faster results than directly entering clinical trials on humans.

4. Rejuvenate Organs

George Church is one of the world’s foremost geroscientists and pioneers in gene therapy. His work centers around eliminating age-related diseases like diabetes, heart disease, cancer and dementia as a means of reversing biological aging. A geneticist at Harvard Medical School he also directs Synthetic Biology at Wyss Institute focusing on creating tools for regenerative medicine research.

Church Lab relies heavily on CRISPR as their primary tool, a gene editing technology which allows scientists to modify living cells. CRISPR allows scientists to switch off genes causing diseases or change their activity so they produce similar outcomes as healthy genes – in essence using this new technology as a way of prolonging mouse lifespan by delaying its natural aging processes. Church and his team hope that CRISPR may allow them to reverse age-related processes using mice as test subjects.

His research has already demonstrated how animals’ aging processes can be reversed, opening the possibility for future development of anti-ageing drugs to extend human lives. His lab is also engineering pig organs to be more compatible with humans and making transplants safer by reducing rejection of transplanted tissues – these technologies could help address global organ shortages while potentially decreasing lifesaving medications needed by patients to ensure they don’t reject transplanted tissue implantation.

At present, only about 15,000 individuals receive organ transplants annually and the waiting list can be lengthy. Unfortunately, many of those on it suffer from chronic illnesses such as diabetes, heart disease and kidney failure and some have even passed away while waiting. Church’s “anti-ageing vaccine” could prevent or reverse such diseases while prolonging elderly lives by several years.

Church and his team aim to eventually increase the lifespan of dogs as an animal model that is easier and cheaper to study than humans. If his experiments prove successful, it would be much quicker and cheaper for bringing results of any longevity drug to market; until that point arrives he’s focused on treating conditions prevalent among older canines such as fatal heart disease and joint pain.

The Legacy of Dr Peter Gariaev

gariaev peter

Dr Peter Gariaev passed away recently. His research helped pave the way for Linguistic Wave Genetics (altering DNA with sounds).

His work involved collaboration between biophysicists, molecular biologists, embryologists and even linguists. He demonstrated how DNA functions both as particle and wave basis; also, its genetic code contains grammatical syntax for controlling protein translation by language.

He has a PhD in Biophysics

Dr Peter Gariaev, a member of both the Russian Academy of Sciences and American Academy of Arts and Science in New York, knew his approach to studying DNA would require more than simply sequencing nucleotides and codons. To do so effectively he assembled an interdisciplinary team composed of Biophysicists, Molecular Biologists, Embryologists as well as Linguistic experts – eventually discovering that so-called ‘junk DNA’ which has long been overlooked and disregarded by western mainstream science is essential in understanding how cells function!

His experiments have demonstrated that DNA acts like a crystal that receives information in the form of weak coherent laser light (biophotons). This information travels throughout our bodies creating dynamic holographic matrix records of our genetic blueprint. Gariaev group proposes that DNA-wave functions as biocomputer and has discovered genetic texts similar to natural context-dependent text found in human languages.

He has also discovered the intimate link between water and DNA; the gap between turns of its double helix is so narrow that even one molecule of water can fit between its turns – this was confirmed by Luc Montagnier when using homeopathic dilutions of bacteria to transfer their signature frequency into pure water; later using this information to reconstruct DNA by PCR.

One of his experiments involved giving rats a pancreatic toxin that caused diabetes; control rats died within six days while those exposed to healthy pancreas DNA survived and experienced functional pancreases again.

Dr Gariaev has demonstrated that information contained within DNA can be altered using frequency in sound and words to reprogram its information. To demonstrate this effect, he conducted experiments by shining low-power laser light through Salamander embryos in one container while simultaneously exposing frog embryos from two other containers to this energy, with only those exposed later developing into adult Salamanders while those in one remained undeveloped – leading to Linguistic Wave Genetics being created as an attempt at altering genetic material through sound rather than chemically alteration.

He is a Biophysicist

Biophysics is a field that merges math and physics to understand living things. This interdisciplinary field specializes in molecular biology research as well as designing new medical technologies. Bachelor-degree holders in this area may work in academic research settings, technology companies or defend intellectual property law or develop policy in several different sectors.

Biophysicists engage in many fascinating experiments involving DNA. Their primary goal is to understand how the human genome operates and discover new drugs or create more precise diagnostic tools. Furthermore, these experts contribute to nanotechnology and biomaterial development which are vital to shaping the future of our world.

Biophysics stands out from other sciences by being highly interdisciplinary. It combines biology and chemistry study; many biophysicists hold appointments at medical schools allowing them to collaborate with doctors and patients on understanding disease mechanisms as well as developing ways to prevent or treat illness.

Biophysicists utilize various techniques to explore biological systems, including X-ray crystallography and NMR spectroscopy. Computer models may also be employed to analyze data and form hypotheses about them. A biophysicist may conduct laboratory experiments to test his or her theories.

Biophysicists play an essential role in creating cutting-edge technologies such as medical imaging devices, DNA chips and tissue engineered constructs capable of growing organs for transplant. Furthermore, they have helped create methods to eradicate disease, end global hunger and produce renewable energy sources.

Gariaev proposed that DNA contains information encoded as electromagnetic and sound holograms that serve as records of life on our planet, providing evidence for quantum wavelike characteristics of our universe. He believes these holograms represent records of history.

Dr. Gariaev‘s experiments have demonstrated how DNA information can be harnessed to heal unhealthy organs and cells, prompting his peers to attack him; but they shouldn’t stop him from continuing his work, which has helped people suffering from stroke, IBS, life-changing injuries as well as many others conditions.

He is a Linguist

Linguists study language and its structures. This includes both human speech and written documents; although linguists don’t necessarily specialize in studying multiple languages (or being polyglots themselves).

Linguistics has strong intellectual connections with multiple disciplines, such as philosophy, literature, language pedagogy, psychology, sociology and biology. Furthermore, mathematics, computer science and natural sciences also play a part in its study. Some linguists specialize in language theory while others work within translation companies or computer technologies.

One of the greatest strengths of linguistics lies in its capacity to help us better comprehend our world. By studying how different cultures and languages communicate, linguistics offers us insight into human thought processes. Linguistics is used across industries ranging from business and medicine to law.

Peter Gariaev, a Russian scientist and leading pioneer in linguistic wave genetics research. He has published in many renowned academic journals such as Journal of Non-Locality and Remote Mental Interactions and International Journal of Computing Anticipatory Systems; furthermore presenting his findings at various conferences worldwide.

Gariaev believes the current genetic code model is flawed, and has developed his own theory, known as the “Linguistic Wave Genome”. According to this approach, DNA acts like a holographic continuum that can be reprogrammed using frequencies – potentially leading to biosystem creation as well as life-changing technologies like remote healing and cell regeneration.

Gariaev contends in his book that the current model of DNA is inadequate and out-dated, neglecting important quantum optical and wave linguistic principles fundamental to understanding its function. According to him, this new theory could revolutionize medical treatments while opening up unanticipated possibilities such as telepathic communication and healing; furthermore it would allow advanced genetic engineering technologies. Genetic manipulation must always be approached carefully – there may be serious risks involved.

He is a Scientist

Dr Peter Gariaev was a Russian scientist who pioneered Wave Genetics by discovering the Phantom DNA Effect and founding its discipline. His groundbreaking research was acknowledged and celebrated by scientists worldwide – so much so that even after his passing in November 2020 his legacy remains.

His discovery led him to conclude that mainstream science’s dismissal of DNA junk as useless information actually contains valuable health advice similar to how our language enacts grammar rules. With his team of biophysicists, molecular biologists, embryologists and linguists at his side he conducted numerous experiments that demonstrated non-coding parts of the genome are programmed according to language grammatical rules; frequencies can also be used as words and frequencies can be changed using frequency manipulation.

Dr Luc Montagnier made an important discovery: DNA’s double helix structure is intimately tied to water. To replicate Gariaev‘s experiments, Dr Montagnier used homeopathic dilutions of bacteria that transmitted their signature frequencies directly into pure water, then used this liquid as the medium to recreate its DNA sequences.

Experiments have revealed that reprogramming non-coding parts of DNA with frequencies found in healthy organs can enable unhealthy ones to heal and regenerate more quickly, marking an extreme departure from our current genetic code model that selects amino acids codon by codon. Holographic biocomputing may offer far-reaching, life-changing technologies including distant non-invasive healing, organ regeneration and significant lifespan extensions.

What is Remote Healing For People?

remote healing for people

Distance healing works on the foundations of energy and intention. Through quantum entanglement, which allows healing energy to spread over long distances, distance healing enables its practitioners to provide treatment remotely.

During a session, people may experience warm glows in certain parts of their bodies or tingling sensations, along with feelings of lightness or heaviness as well as clarity and wellbeing.

Quantum entanglement

Quantum entanglement is an intriguing concept of quantum mechanics that allows us to influence objects remotely. This phenomenon forms the basis for remote healing, an energy therapy practice using quantum frequencies to heal both body and soul. Remote healing has proven highly successful at treating physical ailments as well as psychological distresses; additionally it’s been used to promote relaxation and improve mental wellbeing.

Quantum healing is founded on the idea that everything in the universe consists of vibrational frequencies. Though not visible to the naked eye, these frequencies can be detected with special instruments designed for this purpose and detected within our bodies by changing vibrational patterns – known as healing resonance – within it. Healers use their intention and focus to transmit healing energy directly into recipients’ lives in an endless source of vibrational healing energy transmission.

Remote healing sessions allow healer and receiver to experience proton entanglement at the quantum level, similar to what’s seen during group healing sessions like Womb Room. This phenomenon isn’t simply theoretical; researchers have proven these connections exist and can be accessed using appropriate tools.

Entanglement serves not only as a beautiful symbol for humanity’s unity, but is also an effective means of energy healing. Indeed, its principles underpin many contemporary technologies like secure communications and quantum cryptography; some forms of healing such as Reiki rely heavily on its influence as well.

Einstein believed entanglement to be an absurd violation of reality, yet modern physicists have studied it extensively and demonstrated its occurrence. Furthermore, these experts conducted experiments showing how particles can become entangled despite distance.

Nicolas Gisin, a theoretical physicist at the University of California Berkeley, conducted an experiment that proved this point. The findings were published in Science as part of his paper; Gisin measured how often an atom and its antiparticle’s states overlap, finding this process happens much more frequently than expected.

Intention

Remote healing involves using compassionate intention to promote health and well-being of another individual from a distance, also known as distant, remote or absent healing or energy healing. It uses quantum entanglement principles to send healing energy across long distances. For each healing session, the sender must clear their mind, focus on their recipient, set clear intentions (such as saying their intention of sending healing energy or visualizing him or her as whole and healthy) as well as clear intent; either through verbalising it out loud or imaging their recipient as healthy and whole when creating their intention statements.

Intention is a powerful force capable of creating positive change in others’ lives, both through inner-soul communication and connecting to higher selves. Additionally, intention can also be used to bring about physical changes within our world if combined with faith in its power – otherwise it could backfire and have adverse results.

An intention should always be set with clarity in mind and used effectively during distant energy healing sessions. One’s beliefs regarding distant healing have an enormous impact on how successful their session will be; for example, those with strong beliefs may not feel in control over their condition and may be more prone to stress-related side effects than patients with lower beliefs, while they might have less psychological resilience after surgery.

Researchers have established that healthy people’s intentions towards those experiencing illness can have an immediate and dramatic effect on the autonomic nervous system of those receiving DHI from them, often in relation to belief in DHI and level of motivation; recipients are likely to receive DHI from their friends or family more readily than strangers.

Intention is at the heart of all healing modalities and is essential to any successful remote healing session. To set an effective intention, both healer and receiver must find peaceful spaces where they can focus their intentions; practicing breathing exercises or relaxation techniques might also be useful as preparation. Furthermore, prior to commencing any session such as crystal healing or singing bowl healing it’s crucial that any instruments used such as crystals singing bowls cards etc be programmed with your intention so they work effectively during it.

Energy transfer

Remote healing sessions involve remote healers transmitting energy to their client through an unconscious link that exists outside their physical bodies. This process operates under the principle of quantum entanglement, which states that everything in existence is interrelated. Healers align their energies with clients by visualizing a bridge or connection between them – some also use tools like crystals, singing bowls or cards to invoke life force energy – then ask their healee to relax by focusing on their breath and setting an intention in order to receive healing energy from their healer.

Starting remote healing requires careful preparation and practice. For optimal results, select a comfortable location and plan sessions around time differences between parties involved. Healers should wear comfortable clothes with light scent and consume half a glass of water to remain hydrated throughout their session.

To successfully perform remote healing, both parties involved must agree on what their desired goals are. The healer should ask key questions of their client that will uncover his/her core state associated with key issues; this allows the healer to determine how much energy to send their client.

As part of distance healing, the healer utilizes their intuition and knowledge of quantum physics to channel energy toward their client through magnetic domain known as ether. Researchers have proven that certain amounts of energy can be transferred over long distances via this ether-based transmission method.

Though this technique may appear complex, its benefits for healers and healees can be substantial. Learning how to conduct remote healing sessions can be an excellent way to increase energy and spiritual wellbeing while supporting clients through trauma awareness and healing journeys. However, it must be stressed that this form of healing should not replace medical advice in any form.

Continuity of healing

Distance healing can be an immensely transformative experience, even though its practitioner and client may never physically meet. Utilizing energy medicine techniques, distance healing utilizes energy flow balancers to promote health and wellbeing through energy medicine balancing methods that harmonize body, mind, and spirit energy flows for improved wellbeing. While distance healing is typically employed as a treatment for chronic illnesses such as depression or insomnia, its effectiveness in dealing with emotional or spiritual concerns has proven just as potencyful.

Remote healing sessions enable healers to reach more clients and facilitate positive transformation in their lives, transcending geographical restrictions while providing continuity for healing sessions over time and supporting individuals on their recovery journeys.

Before undertaking a distance healing session, it’s essential for healers to first prepare their energy field by engaging in meditation or spending time in nature. Furthermore, clearing away objects which could obstruct transmission of healing energy can heighten concentration and strengthen their intention for sending it outwards to those being treated remotely.

Once your energy field has been prepared, it’s time to initiate the healing session. Begin by placing the client in an easy chair and setting the intention to heal them; allow healing energy to enter their bodies and bring peace. This can help clients relax while also releasing tension-building emotions.

Whenever using video calls for remote healing sessions, make sure the room is free from interruptions and distractions. Furthermore, high-speed internet connectivity will prevent interruptions caused by network lag.

Zoom offers an easy video chat feature that offers flexibility for you and your client alike, and can even be integrated seamlessly with websites to provide an uninterrupted experience. Plus, its multi-platform compatibility means your client can use whatever device best fits their needs!

Local Vibration Therapy

Local vibration therapy offers an innovative solution to expediting muscle recovery by minimizing post-exercise muscle damage. Unlike whole-body vibration (WBV), however, local muscle vibration only impacts soft tissues without stimulating cardiovascular systems.

Recent research has demonstrated that using a low-frequency massage gun with local vibrating pad significantly enhanced calf muscle function immediately and without overburdening muscles.

Improved Muscle Activation

Vibration can act as a mechanical stimulus that stimulates muscle spindles to increase their excitatory response and thus the strength of skeletal muscles. This effect may be the result of tonic vibratory reflex (TVR), which occurs when vibrations are applied to muscles. TVR is a proprioceptive spinal reflex which increases firing rate of Golgi tendon organ and decreases inhibitory signal from this nerve to motoneuron pool resulting in increased excitatory signal which in turn results in greater muscle strength without increasing work performed by muscles.

Studies examining the effects of local vibration therapy on muscle performance and recovery from exercise-induced muscle fatigue have provided insight into its effectiveness for improving function and reducing post-exercise soreness. Studies also demonstrate how local vibration therapy increases activation levels while increasing flexibility of muscles and ligaments structures, promotes blood and lymphatic fluid circulation around synovial joints, as well as alleviate joint capsule swelling/contracture.

One study that investigated the effects of local vibration training on cortical voluntary activation (VMA) of biceps and triceps muscles revealed that mechanical vibration enhanced both their amplitude and coactivation; suggesting it can boost resistance training’s effect in increasing muscle strength among older individuals with sarcopenia.

One study evaluated the effects of whole-body and local vibration therapy on patients suffering from chronic low back pain (CLBP). They discovered that both WBV and local vibration significantly improved VAS, NRS, and ODI scores for CLBP patients but not those in control groups; additionally, CLBP groups who received vibration experienced greater improvements in static and dynamic balance capability compared with controls.

Although these studies show promising results, there was substantial variation across trials due to factors like age, duration of intervention and vibration pattern. Some researchers also employed different sham/control groups that may alter results.

Increased Muscle Strength

Local vibration differs from whole body vibration (WBV) in that it only stimulates afferents that activate muscle spindles, leading to only weak activation of muscle fibers due to lower frequency and amplitude vibration stimuli. Therefore, local vibration can be used effectively without changing training volume or increasing load on muscles – an approach especially helpful for elderly individuals suffering from sarcopenia who have limited strength and mobility.

Studies have also demonstrated that local vibration therapy increases muscular endurance and power, similar to WBV but less noticeable due to vibration signals dissipating into unaffected tissues.

Local vibration stimulates muscle spindle afferents, sending feedback signals back to the central nervous system (CNS). This stimulation leads to tonic contraction from agonist muscles and reciprocal inhibition from antagonists; it also increases velocity for eccentric actions of these same muscles – an effect which may help explain why local vibration enhances strength-training exercises as well as jumps and sprints more effectively.

Studies have also demonstrated that vibration can speed up the time necessary to reach maximum strength and power after engaging in resistance exercise sessions, due to increasing nervous and cardiovascular system activity. Unfortunately, its exact mechanisms remain unknown but could include nerve growth-inhibition mechanisms.

Local vibration therapy appears to aid recovery from exercise-induced muscle damage. One study discovered that local vibration therapy significantly decreased levels of myoglobin, CK, and LDH in muscles post exercise when compared with control groups.

Vibration added to self-administered release techniques (such as foam rolling) can augment their benefits and help athletes reduce DOMS, pain pressure sensitivity and proprioception more efficiently, which in turn enables more effective training sessions while decreasing injury risks. Athletes may use vibration therapy during warmups before each workout period – however the duration and method of application will determine its most efficient usage.

Reduced Muscle Pain

Vibration therapy may work to stimulate bone-building cells known as osteoblasts in your body, leading to bone formation. Therefore, vibration therapy has often been referred to as “bone-building technology.”

Whole-body vibration therapy requires standing on a platform vibrating at a certain frequency and amplitude, while localized vibration therapy involves your therapist using a portable device over specific areas such as your calves, thighs or shoulders to stimulate specific muscles.

Studies have demonstrated the efficacy of local vibration therapy in relieving muscle pain. While results vary depending on where exactly the vibration device was applied, one team of researchers utilized a massage gun to apply vibration over quadriceps muscle of knee. They found that vibration reduced muscle pain while improving knee function – this marked the first time researchers had used such device specifically targeted quadriceps muscle treatment.

Recent research demonstrated how segmental vibration therapy, or “segmental vibration”, can effectively enhance power, flexibility and reduce self-reported muscle pain after exercise in healthy adults. Researchers discovered that when vibration was applied directly to specific muscle belly or tendon locations it increased torque development rate during dynamic exercises while decreasing perceived stiffness levels.

Vibration therapy has seen increasing attention as an approach for treating sports injuries, specifically back issues and muscle damage after exercise. Studies have examined its effects on performance measures such as muscle activation/stimulation/strength/power output as well as joint stability/flexibility / range of motion/range of motion.

Recent meta-analysis results indicate that vibration therapy can help decrease pain and improve lumbar function in those suffering chronic low back pain. However, researchers note that evidence may still be limited and more RCTs need to be conducted before making definitive statements regarding clinical relevance.

Vibration therapy is an efficient and safe way to increase muscle contractions, enhance balance and decrease pain after physical exertion or injury. Furthermore, vibration therapy can be used as part of a pre-exercise warm-up routine to enhance performance – particularly among athletes looking for ways to raise intensity with reduced effort or risk of injury.

Improved Range of Motion

Studies demonstrate the efficacy of local vibration therapy on muscle flexibility, range of motion and pain reduction after exercise. Unfortunately, research in this area is highly variable due to methodological variations such as type of stimulus used (WBV vs local VT), the amplitude and frequency settings on vibrators used as well as using sham controls – factors which may impact findings or interpretation of results.

Vibration has long been known to stimulate muscle fibers and enhance proprioceptive information from the musculoskeletal system to the brain. Local vibration therapy may further amplify these effects by directly impacting soft tissues in the area being stimulated, such as by placing vibrators directly on muscles or tendons.

One study examined the effects of both high- and low-frequency vibration foam rolling on quadriceps muscle. They discovered that low-frequency vibration was more effective at increasing flexibility and decreasing perceptions of tightness after exercise due to greater stimulation of afferent nerve fibers within muscles, helping block neurological “gates” associated with DOMS signals.

Traditional Chinese Medicine theory serves as the basis of local vibration therapy, an intervention mode aimed at relieving exercise-induced muscular fatigue by targeting related muscle groups and their acupoints. Three meridians were specifically selected during local vibration therapy sessions: the Governing Meridian, Foot Bladder Meridian and Hand Triple Yin Meridians.

WBV may help reduce pain and improve lumbar function, but it can also worsen muscle fatigue. A more effective approach may involve combining WBV with local vibration therapy for maximum effectiveness.

Mechanical vibration as an aid to muscle activation and strength is still relatively novel; only a handful of studies have explored its use thus far. To assess whether vibration induces beneficial changes to muscle activation, strength, joint flexibility/range of motion or range of motion measurements of participants enrolled in studies was examined for this review; on average all but one found improvement following exposure to vibration therapy.
