This 12 VDC control/communicator boasts 8 fully supervised on-board points expandable to 40 via any combination of expansion modules and wireless points, each zone can be divided into four independent and functional areas or account numbers for more precise system control; up to 32 users may arm or disarm with unique codes for each area; additionally it supports up to 8 programmable schedulers which run at specific times on specified days as well as 4 onboard programmable relay outputs expandable up to 20.
A commercial wireless interface module enables the D9412G to seamlessly interact with analog numeric paging, uplink radios and LAN/WAN devices for status reporting and system management, event log entries up to 255 can be printed out using local printers; optional OctoRelay modules add groups of 128 relay outputs that expand up to 238 using D8125 POPEX point expanders; this control panel can easily integrate with Radionics Readykey access control system for seamless security solutions.
Configuration
The D9412G/D7412G control panel boasts an array of features that make it suitable for small to large alarm systems. With four on-board programmable outputs that can be expanded up to 20, two auxiliary outputs, communication with analog numeric paging modules for status reporting, event log records up to 255 system events that can be printed using any standard serial printer, this device offers everything needed for success in alarm monitoring applications.
Install Modules and Relays
Before making any wiring connections or installing modules or relays, be sure to shut down the panel by unplugging its transformer and disconnecting its battery – this will help protect both components. Once power has been disabled, follow your module’s installation instructions carefully while keeping in mind powering down will help avoid accidental programming of units.
Installation and programming instructions must be carefully adhered to for both the D9412G/D7412G panel as well as any modules installed, such as interior follower points which require programming with a debounce count of 3. In addition, door/window points connected with D9210B Access Control Interface Module must all feature non-zero debounce counts for correct functioning.
Be sure to read the D9412G/D7412G Program Entry Guide for additional details regarding how your panel is set up, for instance if your installer uses a D928 Dual Phone Line Switcher as part of phone supervision; setting its “Detect Enable Jumper (S4) on will allow ten attempts at sending communication failure reports by it.
Importantly, it should be noted that the D9412G/D7412G requires at least one D8212A or D8212B supervised input module as this enables hardwired devices to be monitored by the panel. Furthermore, one or both modules must also be connected to one of your panel’s auxiliary outputs if you wish for security system trouble conditions to be received by it – otherwise these auxiliary outputs won’t receive power and you could end up without proper functioning panels!
Installation
Radionics d7412g control panels are tailored to meet the requirements of most residential and small commercial applications, including standard features like points, relay outputs and keypads as well as expandable options like additional points. POPIT Modules may also be attached for additional points of protection. It is UL listed for Central Station, Local, Remote Household and SW AUX Fire Alarms as well as Police Station Connect Burglar alarms. At least every three years, it must be checked and tested by a qualified technician. The D7412G can connect to up to 238 off-board points using POPIT Modules installed anywhere within your system – these modules can then be programmed to monitor up to 24 different points at once! Furthermore, it comes equipped with a relay which can be activated to verify whether or not signals are present; this feature comes in handy if you have doubts that any signal is receiving at an off-board point within your home or business.
The D7412G features two auxiliary outputs that can be used as siren outputs or activate external devices, as well as two relay outputs that can indicate whether your alarm system is armed or disarmed and trigger a light or siren when your alarm system trips – these outputs are easily programmed using Radionics D8412G/D7412G Program Entry Guide.
Before installing modules or relays, it is advised to power down the panel by unplugging its transformer and disconnecting its battery. This will prevent any unnecessary charges to your battery and enable you to follow their installation instructions for each new component. In addition, powering down will ensure any wiring problems do not affect its proper function.
The D7412G utilizes a primary AC power circuit provided by a 16.5 VAC, 40 VA internally fused transformer (Radionics model D1640). This provides 1.9 amps of rectified AC power; 500mA of this is reserved for internal operations while leaving 1.4 amps for powered devices. For more information regarding current draw requirements of both panels and accessories please see Current Rating Chart in D9412G/D7412G Approved Applications Compliance Guides.
