Radionics panels and keypads of older model years utilize various commands for arming, disarming, bypassing (shunting), warning displays/tones/alarms/fire alarms etc. To find out which ones apply specifically to your panel or keypad please refer to its user manuals/guides; Command 4 performs “smoke detector reset” function on systems with fire alarm monitoring 6112 series systems.
Control Panel
Radionics panels (and their keypads) utilized a simple series of digits for common functions, like arming/disarming/programming functions/troubling alarms. Customers and installers quickly learned these commands across many models allowing for easier service delivery and learning curves.
Command 7 would allow a fire alarm system to bypass one point — an important function that protects police and firefighters until problems have been addressed. Conversely, Command 8 can be used to arm around faulty detectors until service can be scheduled.
This UL listed control panel goes beyond basic functions to provide an event log with up to 255 entries that can be printed from a standard serial printer. Furthermore, this system features four on-board programmable outputs – expandable to 20 and linked with analog numeric paging or data bus modules offering status reporting over alternate communication paths such as Uplink radios or LAN/WAN; up to eight scheduled events (skeds) can also be programmed and eight user arm/disarm codes can also be set. UL certification means this system also qualifies as burglar, fire and access control alarm/system
Keypad
The keypad serves as the heart of an alarm system, offering control of its many functions – arming and disarming, bypass zones (shunting), setting alarm displays and tones, resetting sensors, activating Fire or Burglary Panic buttons, activating Fire/Burglary Panic buttons and more. For more information about its use please consult your Radionics system user manual and keypad user guide.
Command 4: Pressing the Fire Panic (sometimes referred to as Police Panic) button activates sirens and keypads while sending an alarm monitoring central station signal of police panic.
Sensors
This security alarm/access control/fire alarm system is intended for medium sized residential and commercial properties. UL listed, this solution features a 12 VDC control/communicator equipped with 8 onboard points expandable up to 239 via hardwire or wireless point expansion modules, as well as 8 autonomously functioning areas or account numbers. Easy to set up for residential fire alarm installation (NFPA 72), this system can also accommodate RF door releases, 2-wire smoke detectors and other initiating devices. Eight programmable skeds allow the user to remotely arm and disarm the system at specific times or days of the week, as well as operate its outputs at specific locations. Up to 255 panel events may be recorded in an event log that can be printed either locally through keypad or remotely using Remote Account Manager software.
Radionics Readykey access control can be integrated with this system to form an end-user solution with full functionality. The system features hardwire and wireless technology options as well as alternate communication paths including long range radio. Command 7 and Command 9 functions enable users to selectively bypass or unbypass individual points as required.
