Ao Haru Ride is an exquisite manga with an unforgettable ending for its characters. It tells the tale of Futaba Yoshioka as she attempts to reinvent herself at high school while Kou Mabuchi harbors secrets in his past that influence his present actions.

Futaba and Kou meet again at high school and quickly form feelings for each other, but due to a misunderstanding Futaba tells him she detests all boys impulsively.

The story centers around Futaba Yoshioka and Kou Mabuchi, two high school students with an intricate relationship, as they face obstacles such as misunderstandings and insecurities while learning how to overcome these challenges together. At its conclusion is bittersweet but will leave an unforgettable memory inside. A beautiful tale with heartwarming ending that will touch both characters’ lives forever more!

What is the story of ao haru ride?

AO HARUKI RIDE is an engaging slow-burn romance, filled with characters who are well developed and likeable. While its artwork may not be up to par, I found AO HARUKI RIDE worthwhile reading if you appreciate shojo manga.

Futaba Yoshioka felt alienated by her female classmates at middle school, until she met Kou Tanaka; an attractive yet gentle, friendly small person she quickly took a liking to. They became fast friends; though Futaba quickly found herself drawn to him; unfortunately he wasn’t reciprocal. When invited to attend a summer festival by him she impulsively told him she hated boys; unfortunately he never showed up and eventually disappeared from her life altogether.

Three years later, Futaba is stunned when her old flame shows up at her high school as an entirely different person with a new name and personality. Although he aims to reconcile with Futaba again, Futaba doesn’t know how she should express how she feels toward him.

Ao Haru Ride has received immense critical acclaim among manga professionals and fans alike, both for its realistic characters and story, particularly Futaba’s development, as well as its distinctive art style and effective character design.

VIZ Media has published the Ao Haru Ride manga in English translation; currently there are ten volumes. The latest volume was released on April 16, 2019.

Futaba and Kou are the main characters of Ao Haru Ride manga; however, other intriguing relationships play out throughout. Yui, Kou’s junior high classmate who had been bullied by Futaba and her peers in middle school, forms an unlikely but close friendship as they navigate their feelings and lives together. Also present is Shuuko who doesn’t speak much but displays strong sense of responsibility while Kominato acts like a loud and outgoing jokester; each has their own set of interesting relationships as they navigate their own emotions and lives respectively.

Who are the main characters in ao haru ride?

Kou Tanaka, a troubled boy from his past, is the protagonist in Ao Haru Ride manga series. Though he finds it difficult to open up to others, when it comes to Futaba he cannot hold back from confessing his feelings for her despite their rejection; yet, he never gives up hoping she will eventually realise just how much he cares for her!

Futaba Yoshioka is a shy girl who finds making friends difficult. To her dismay, boys in her class often ridicule her as an innocent goody two shoes. Yet despite her initial hesitation to spend time with other female classmates, Futaba eventually forms friendships with Shuuko Murao, Yuri Makita, and Aya Kominato who help her understand true friendship.

As she becomes closer with her classmates, she slowly opens up to them and begins sharing some of her deepest secrets. Gradually she learns how to trust others and finds happiness despite still dealing with many pains from her past on her own.

Shuuko is a timid girl with significant emotional baggage from her past. Although she finds it hard to form relationships, she forms one with Futaba whom she becomes very close with over time. While Shuko often interacts with Kou more readily than herself, Futaba knows he will always be there for them both as she knows that Shuuko’s interactions are only temporary.

Yuri struggles to express her emotions. She has an attraction for Kou but is unable to show it openly; thus she tries to forget them instead, yet Kou knows exactly what she’s thinking and continues trying to reach out and reach her out.

Aya is an upbeat girl with a dark secret she doesn’t wish to share with anyone, yet is fiercely loyal to Shuuko as best friends. However, she finds trusting others difficult. Aya attempts to remain positive but often falls victim to depression – Kou becomes her salvation and helps her break free of her misery.

Is the ao haru ride manga finished?

Shueisha Publishing Company released thirteen volumes of Ao Haru Ride manga under their Margaret Comics imprint. Written and illustrated by Io Sakisaka, the series first serialized in bessatsu Margaret magazine from February 2011 until February 2015 before also being made into an anime television series by Studio Ghibli.

Futaba and Kou’s romance is complicated by miscommunication and internal monologue, leaving Futaba uncertain when she should confess her feelings to Kou. In volume 5, they plan to attend the summer festival together – another chance at their first date that never materialized years earlier – yet when Kou cancels at the last minute it sends Futaba back into pining mode while wondering what she should do next.

Kou moves to Nagasaki just as Yui, one of his former junior high classmates from junior high, moves in. Due to her gentle demeanor and recent death of her father, he begins keeping in contact with Yui more regularly; this alters their dynamic relationship and soon Futaba finds herself trapped within a love triangle.
