2. Diagnosis
Radionics D1240’s 12V, 4.0 Ah sealed lead-acid rechargeable battery provides secondary power for the panel’s auxiliary and alarm outputs, as well as powering it during interruptions in primary AC power. A larger battery increases backup time.
Auxiliary and Alarm Power Outputs
Two self-resetting protection devices safeguard both auxiliary and alarm power outputs against short circuits, so external devices such as strobes, sirens or bells can be controlled using external outputs such as aux power. Meanwhile alarm outputs may signal alarm conditions or activate keypad prompts; additionally they can operate strobes/sirens when activated by sensor events, supervised tampering events, manual keyswitch input or DTMF dialing.
Points (73-07115-000). Each programmed point on the D2112 can support up to five Radionics D262 two-wire smoke detectors; for more details please refer to Technogram: Smoke Detectors Compatible with the D2112 (73-07115-000). Furthermore, Point 1 of the D2112 serves as a powered and supervised point; its sensor loop is monitored for normal, shorted or open conditions and programming determines its response accordingly.
To arm and disarm the D2112, use the keypad, remote programmer or D202 Keypad. If the standby switch is locked down, unlocking it to program the panel is required; please refer to the D2112/D2112E Program Entry Guide for instructions. When installing on telephone lines with service providers that use Ringer Equivalence Numbers (RENs), be mindful that excessive numbers could interfere with service, cause device failure or prevent the system from responding appropriately when an incoming call comes through – they should give advanced notice before any changes that affect it affecting it!
4. Monitoring
Radionics D9412G Security Alarm, Fire Alarm and Access Control system is an easily used 12 VDC controller/communicator equipped with 8 expandable points expandable up to 239, 8 independently functioning areas or account numbers and up to 249 user arm/disarm codes with local printer. Ideal for large residential or commercial properties alike UL listed for easy installation.
The D9412G can accommodate an array of hardwired and wireless sensors, as well as alternate communication options like long range uplink radio and LAN/WAN. Furthermore, eight programmable scheduled events (skeds) enable arming/disarming or operating other system outputs at specified times or days of the week as well as event log reporting and analogue numeric paging capabilities.
5. Reporting
The D9412G security system/fire alarm/access control system can be tailored to suit your individual requirements, accommodating up to 8 fully supervised points that expand up to 239, eight independently functioning areas or account numbers and four user arm/disarm codes. Furthermore, this 12 VDC system generates open/close reports as well as meeting NFPA 72 standards UL listed fire alarm control system certification.
Terminal 6 provides access to an auxiliary output. This can be used for running bells, siren drivers, piezo fire sounders and electronic horns. The D2112 combines battery power with that from its auxiliary output to provide up to 1.5A alarm power output.
If you connect two-wire smoke detectors to point 1 on the D2112, use a 2.0K end of line resistor as part of the connection to help limit current consumption. Referring to Radionics Technogram: Smoke Detectors Compatible with D2112/D2112E (73-07115-000), or getting in touch with detector manufacturer can provide more details.
To meet UL 985 listing requirements, the combined continuous and alarm current draws of the D2112/D2112E must not exceed 860mA provided by its power supply (excluding battery). If due to changes in telephone company facilities, equipment or operations the current increases beyond this threshold then an independent Power Supply must be added as additional power source – your phone company should advise of such changes and advise how you should make necessary adjustments in your system.
