What Is Resonance Massage Therapy?

Resonance Massage Therapy is a wellness practice focused on the healing power of vibration. McKenzie Moser, a Licensed Massage Therapist, provides clients with an integrative experience utilizing therapeutic and soothing methods for long-term results.

Befor e your first session, we require that you fill out a health history form so your therapist can determine the appropriate form of massage therapy for you.

Trigger Point Release

At a trigger point release session, your therapist will identify and apply pressure to areas within your muscles known as knots or tight spots that cause myofascial referred pain in other parts of your body. Tight muscles drain energy while making sleeping difficult – massage therapy targeting these areas may provide relief while increasing mobility.

Trigger points are hyperirritable spots of taut bands of skeletal muscle that produce local or referred pain, often associated with chronic musculoskeletal conditions like tension headache, TMJ disorder, carpal tunnel syndrome, myofascial pain syndrome and fibromyalgia. They often occur in muscles used for posture control such as those located in your neck and back.

Trigger points are discrete, focal hyperirritable points caused by prolonged or repetitive microtrauma that create a referral pain pattern. Trigger points usually form when muscles have been injured, overworked, or under continuous stress – producing pain which may feel like an ache, heaviness, or burning sensations that are palpated as hard nodules within the muscle itself.

A common technique to treat trigger points is applying sustained pressure with fingers, thumbs, elbows or massage balls or tools – this approach may range from mild to intense and can be utilized for self-trigger point releases as well as professional myofascial dry needling techniques.

Vibration therapy can also help treat trigger points by breaking up spasms that cause muscles to contract and twitch, allowing it to relax and elongate more freely and thus decreasing both trigger points as well as increasing circulation into the area, providing fresh nutrients while eliminating toxic waste accumulation. Both these methods are utilized by professional sports medicine practices as well as being doable at home with some instruction.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial release is a hands-on treatment technique that uses sustained pressure to address areas of fascial restriction within the body. Fascia is a network of connective tissue covering muscles, organs and skeletal structures throughout our bodies; when restricted it creates tight spots called knots that cause pain both locally as well as more broadly throughout. Myofascial release offers relief in either case!

Resonance massage therapy utilizes myofascial release techniques that address and break up restrictions to alleviate pain. This type of massage can be particularly helpful to those suffering from fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome or neck and headache pain; carpal tunnel syndrome shoulder pain low back pain as well as other ailments may also benefit.

Myofascial release massage is performed directly on the skin without oils or creams, making it more effective at relieving tension. Our therapists can detect fascial restrictions through touch, and apply just enough pressure to facilitate release. Before your session begins, we collect a thorough health history to make sure myofascial release is safe for you; for instance if you have blood-clotting issues we take extra care since certain forms of massage could potentially dislodge clots from their positions.

At your session, we’ll use our fingers, elbows or massage tools like foam rollers to apply pressure to help relax fascia and facilitate its relaxation. Although this may feel painful at first, Dr. Adams suggests not pushing beyond this point – your body’s natural way of telling you the knot has begun untying itself!

At home, self-myofascial release can help alleviate neck pain and tightness. For optimal results, try working on tight spots every day; beginners should begin with tennis balls before progressing with larger items over time. It may take several weeks before any difference becomes visible; in which case, consult your physician or therapist about additional ways of relieving pain relief.

Amma Therapy

As part of your initial massage session, your therapist will gather information regarding any health conditions that could compromise the comfort and effectiveness of treatment. With this knowledge in hand, they can target specific problem areas to promote healing and pain relief – for instance if an overuse injury exists they could focus on increasing circulation to speed recovery by targeting specific problem spots like knees.

AMMA therapy is an ancient Asian bodywork style that predates acupuncture by over 5,000 years and incorporates Chinese medicine principles for accessing and treating imbalances in energy systems. AMMA uses similar energetic pathways and acupressure points as in acupuncture but instead uses fingers instead of needles to stimulate them.

This massage is performed without oil, so that you remain fully clothed while the practitioner works to manipulate your body using circular thumb and finger movements along energy pathways known as meridians. They then activate specific acupuncture points along these meridians in order to help release physical tension as well as any blocks to Qi (chee) flow within your body.

Anma massage, introduced into America by Tina Sohn during the 1970s as AMMA and later changed to Amma Therapy, uses ritualized hand and body techniques called Kata to pass its knowledge from master to student.

As well as its physical benefits, massage therapy also soothes the nervous system. A therapeutic touch experience that encourages both your mind and body to unwind from daily stresses while creating a sense of alignment with yourself is another advantage of this form of touch therapy.

Resonance Mind Body Wellness is proud to provide a range of therapeutic bodywork techniques, such as amma. We aim to help enhance relaxation, healing, and connection between you, those closest to you, and the universe at large. Whether you need relief for chronic pain, improved posture or simply some time alone for reflection – our professional therapists are ready and waiting.

Hot Stones

Hot stone massage employs heat absorbing stones to deepen relaxation and allow muscles to release more quickly. Basalt stones are particularly good at holding heat longer than other stones, making them the ideal choice for this therapy. Your therapist will monitor temperature throughout your session while seeking regular feedback from clients as to their comfort level with the heat retention properties of basalt stones.

Heated stones have long been used for pain relief in various forms of massage therapy across the globe, from ancient China, Korea and Native America to contemporary massage practices in various regions around the globe. Heated stones were traditionally employed to reduce tension, relieve pain and connect people with nature – an approach still practiced today by various cultures worldwide.

Use of hot stones combined with a deeply soothing massage oil increases their therapeutic value exponentially. Heated basalt and cool marble stones can be used for their soothing and rejuvenating properties; their hot/cold temperatures alternating create a form of therapeutic “vascular gymnastics”, soothing muscles while toning skin tone.

Crystal energy adds an additional dimension of healing to hot stone facial treatments. Their various vibrations interact with and strengthen your energy in ways you may never have imagined possible.

The Euro-Stone Facial employs many of the same principles as our full body hot stone massage, yet adds an additional resonance. Marble stones combine their regenerative powers with crystal healing resonance for an effective facial treatment to rejuvenate and balance skin, mind and spirit.

This massage incorporates Tibetan singing bowl sounds into its treatment to create an immersive journey of warmth and resonance for clients, often helping them feel more attuned with themselves and even visualizing their journey of awakening. Furthermore, stones help ease menstrual pain relief, ease arthritis symptoms and boost bone nutrition to prevent osteoporosis.
