Ballast Efficiency
There are some branded HID ballasts that run at high frequencies (can’t go beyond 50/60Hz and probably no higher), so I would like to build my own LPS ballast using some low cost IC with voltage regulation and supervisor features (e.g. ATTinyX5 family) with the goal of reaching an efficiency above 85% ideally 90%.
Magnetic ballasts will have difficulty meeting the new requirements if they utilize high arc voltage, but what about electronic ones?
