EEM for Children

Children may suffer from EEM, particularly those diagnosed with Sunflower syndrome (now known as EEM with prominent photic induction). This form of epilepsy increases the chances that your child will also develop learning difficulties or psychiatric conditions; though this doesn’t always happen; however it is more likely among those who began having seizures at an early age.
As soon as a seizure occurs, any child suffering from EEM must see their doctor immediately.
