Radionics 8112 User Manual

Getting Started

Ascertain your panel is communicating with the central station by visiting MAIN->PRIMARY CENTRAL STATION->CS and checking its prompt. If it shows 7 for modem II format (D8112G2 only) using 4 digit account numbers; otherwise it would display 6. Additionally, verify that audible alarm has an allotted period to silence before shutting off automatically.

ARMING

Radionics home security systems traditionally used a consistent series of “Commands” to perform arming and disarming functions, programming tasks, and more. Customers and installers learned these commands once for any model of Radionics alarm panel – meaning you only had to learn them once! Unfortunately in the 1990s Radionics Inc departed from this standard by introducing new panel formats requiring different sets of numbered commands, making this page both useful for using these new panels, as well as providing extra instructions for older panels using D223 or D2212 keypads.

Before using a command to arm the system, make sure the keypad(s) are at an idle state (showing “System OK”) and that no arms or disarms are underway. Pressing the COMMAND bar will display current status followed by text for each zone armed (if applicable).

Arm Perimeter With Delays

This command equips perimeter protection while maintaining delay time on entry and exit zones, perfect for residential systems when only front doors need to be protected while leaving interior and rear perimeter unarmed – for instance when expecting deliveries or visitors.

Arm and View Faulted Points

To arm your system and view faulted or bypassed points, use COMMAND 11. This command displays the status of all perimeter and interior points as well as how much time each entry or exit zone has left until its timer runs out – giving you enough information to quickly detect any doors or windows which need securing before trying to arm the system.

Press COMMAND 11 To Arm Perimeter With Duress Panic If your system supports it, pressing COMMAND 11 will arm your perimeter perimeter and send a duress signal to all keypads and central station (if applicable) simultaneously, sounding sirens and keypad sounds as well as sending out an “fire panic” alert signal (for systems reporting directly).

If you wish to arm the system using a duress passcode, first enter your personal passcode, followed by the duress code. When using this command, your display will show FORCE ARM instead of its usual “Armed Zone Text.”
