Wave Genetics and Pseudoscience

Wave Genetics offers an unconventional perspective that may inspire individuals to recognize and embrace the inherent resilience and healing capacities in their body, providing hope that established scientific paradigms may have limits.

Modern eugenics is built on this flawed idea, which could lead to “racial purity” efforts and lead to genocides like the Holocaust.

1. It is based on junk DNA

Geneticists have long acknowledged that human genomes contain large quantities of noncoding DNA known as junk DNA, consisting of sequences which don’t encode proteins and therefore don’t serve any real function; as a result, this “junk DNA” has long been considered wasteful of space within genomes and hence considered “junk”.

As geneticists gained more knowledge about the genome’s structure and composition, they started to understand why so much “junk” would exist within it. Large genomes invariably contain sequences that don’t code for protein; over time these sequences may mutate or accumulate into pseudogenes – inactive copies of working genes which still function by being transcribed into RNA which regulates gene expression.

Scientists have begun to understand that pseudogenes and other noncoding regions of the genome actually perform vital roles. Some once considered junk can actually assist in controlling how genes are transcribed into RNA for translation into proteins – this insight has changed how scientists think of and view the genome’s function.

However, some individuals are taking advantage of advances in genetics to spread fraudulent science about human DNA and racial differences. Their claims often rest on junk DNA and support eugenics – the practice of selective breeding for desirable traits in humans – though modern versions are generally not as harmful. They still can lead to discrimination and hateful acts like Holocaust. Therefore it is wise to be wary when hearing claims regarding junk DNA or racial differences.

2. It is based on a theory that has been disproven

Recent years have witnessed an upsurge in books and scientific papers which attempt to explain various human behaviors by suggesting they are genetically determined. Such theories rely heavily on pseudoscientific notions like characteristic inheritance theory. Francis Galton, cousin to Charles Darwin, first proposed the theory of characteristic inheritance as an explanation for why people who possess certain characteristics such as intelligence can pass them down through families. Eugenics is an idea often associated with racism that has been employed both for beneficial and abusive ends, including during the Holocaust. This pseudoscience relies on several tactics characteristic of pseudoscience such as lacking critical thinking skills, appealing to ancient wisdom from dubious sources, and disregard for valid scientific research as its foundations.

3. It is based on a technique that has been disproven

Recent advances in genetics have spurred some non-mainstream researchers to form an informal cottage industry of low-quality or distorted science. Such efforts often look legit with tables, graphs, charts and technical jargon such as “evolutionary realism” or “human biodiversity”, though many contain pseudoscientific arguments about race-based differences and “genetic intelligence differences”.

These pseudoscientists often draw from ancient religious texts to make unfounded assertions about life based on ignorance of modern biology. Additionally, they attack valid scientific research with unapologetic attacks on its credibility – all hallmarks of pseudoscience which relies on obscure beliefs, appeals to authority and disregarding facts.

4. It is based on a method that has been disproven

The paper displayed several traits often associated with pseudoscience, including an emphasis on the “mystery of life,” (which can often be misconstrued as hinting towards supernatural forces), an appeal to ancient wisdom from dubious sources, lack of respect for valid scientific research and disregarding Darwinian evolution as evidence. Such agenda-driven articles should not have any place in scientific literature and must be removed immediately.

Pseudoscience, also known as wave genetics, uses techniques that have been disproven to try to pass off as scientific knowledge by employing technical terms from multiple scientific disciplines without providing contexts or any evidence to back their claims. This tactic of pseudoscience is one way wave genetics is being used to spread false ideas and promote false theories.
