Reduces Acne

A double-blind placebo controlled trial concluded that topical gel containing 5% EGCG successfully treated mild to moderate inflammatory lesions such as cysts, nodules and pustules better than vehicle gel alone [47].
Laminaria digitata or Kelp is another potential treatment option for acne reduction, according to research conducted. A cream containing this extract was shown to significantly improve inflammatory acne lesions such as cysts, nodules, papules and pustules compared with vehicle gel alone; researchers suggested this result was due to components within Kelp being capable of decreasing comedone formation while inhibiting P. acnes activity.
Recent meta-analyses demonstrated the efficacy of combination treatments with 0.1% tretinoin and 1% benzoyl peroxide on non-inflammatory and inflammatory acne lesions in double-blind, vehicle-controlled studies. This support supports the hypothesis that combination therapies such as topical tretinoin/benzoyl peroxide therapy could be an effective strategy for managing inflammatory acne that has proven resistant to monotherapy alone.
Reduces Wrinkles
Young and radiant skin are goals many strive for, particularly around their eyes. To combat signs of aging, various noninvasive and minimally invasive techniques have been developed in dermatology and cosmetic medicine.
Monopolar radiofrequency (RF) therapy is an effective means of tightening skin that was approved by the Food and Drug Administration for treating facial skin in 2006. RF employs electromagnetic energy to generate heat within dermal layers, stimulating collagen synthesis while contracting fibrils. Furthermore, its energy does not penetrate to upper layers of skin like light therapy might, which reduces surface burns while mitigating melanin accumulation caused by melanocyte irritation.
Microneedle treatment is another popular technique to promote skin rejuvenation. The procedure entails using fixed, sterile needles that penetrate the skin to create multiple small puncture wounds that promote inflammation and collagen and elastin formation. When compared with traditional dermabrasion, microneedle treatments have proven less traumatic and have produced superior results; however, due to skin thickness restrictions, penetration of topical agents may be limited.

Results revealed that radio frequency (RF) treatment significantly reduced periorbital wrinkles, decreasing fine wrinkles around the eye area while improving facial skin elasticity and pore size. Furthermore, participants were satisfied with treatment outcomes; two blind dermatologists also evaluated participants on four-point Crow’s feet Grading Scale and Global Aesthetic Improvement Scale to evaluate results objectively. Unfortunately, limitations to this study include small sample size and short follow-up timeframe.
Reduces Scars
High-frequency, high-intensity laser therapy is another highly effective means of treating scars. Scars will gradually contract as redness fades.
