How an Energy Medicine Program Can Enhance a Client’s Well-Being

Studies continue to demonstrate the existence of human energy systems which integrate with physical body, emotions, and spirit. Therapeutic energy healing techniques may be combined with conventional healthcare modalities for maximum client benefits.

Energy medicine uses gentle hand techniques designed to balance and channel one’s energies for healing in body, mind and soul. Such practices include Reiki, Healing Touch and Qigong.

Introduction to Energy Medicine

Body energy systems are intimately related to our physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing. Many healing modalities – therapeutic touch, healing touch, Reiki, reflexology, craniosacral therapy and qigong are designed to work with these biofields for positive client results.

Rejuvenate your whole body & balance your health without medications - now remotely!

Students enrolled in this introductory course will learn about the human energy field and its interaction with disease, healing and self-healing processes. Furthermore, energy medicine techniques based on Donna Eden’s teachings will also be introduced for personal healing or treating others.

These simple and user-friendly techniques include energetic grounding, life force energy, the auric field, meditation sanctuary design and understanding endocrine system functions. Participants will also be taught the basics of Reiki energy healing technique that they can use on themselves or others for instantaneous and miraculous results.

This module introduces the physio-psychic (or astral) body and its relationship with one’s health, particularly through Chinese Medicine’s meridien system. Correlations to chakra systems and health are discussed, along with modern shamanistic techniques for soul retrieval as a means of gaining back personal power and spiritual wisdom.

Healing Touch

Healing Touch is a gentle energy therapy used by practitioners to clear and balance energy fields in the body, thus supporting its natural ability to heal itself. Used worldwide in hospitals and healthcare settings worldwide as well as being investigated in research centers worldwide in terms of whether it can increase immunity or decrease chemotherapy side effects.

Healing Touch sessions begin by having the practitioner center themselves through an approach known as “centering.” Next, they scan the energy field of those receiving treatment either off-body or by touching their bodies lightly – typically lasting 40-60 minutes with people often experiencing sensations and images during treatment or feelings of being nurtured or deep relaxation during their session.

Like Reiki, Healing Touch is founded upon an Eastern belief that an unseen life force or “energy” flows throughout our bodies to aid its innate self-healing capacities. A practitioner trained in Healing Touch can recognize these energy flows and gently manipulate them as needed to restore them and facilitate self-healing processes.

Janet Mentgen created the Healing Touch program in the 1980s as a certified energy medicine practice and now offers it worldwide in hospitals, clinics and long-term care facilities. Studies have demonstrated how healing touch can enhance quality of life for its users by relieving anxiety, reducing nausea and strengthening immunity as well as supporting cancer patients healing processes. Furthermore, surgery patients benefit greatly from healing touch as it makes surgery procedures feel more calm and relaxing as well as fosters spiritual self-reconnective experiences.

Reiki

Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is an energy healing practice designed to bring balance and wellness. Based on the belief that there exists an unseen energy which flows throughout all living things and can be harnessed to heal body, mind, and spirit, Reiki practitioners believe if this energy becomes weak or blocked it can cause illness.

Reiki practitioners employ various hand positions over their fully clothed patient’s body to channel energy to areas in need. Patients may feel warmth or tingling during this session that typically lasts 30-60 minutes and often combined with massage and acupuncture therapies for enhanced benefits.

Contrary to other energy therapies, Reiki does not require its participants to believe in or be religious about its benefits; rather it provides a gentle yet effective therapy that can be integrated with healthcare treatments like chemotherapy or radiation.

“Reiki” is an acronym formed from two Japanese words: rei, meaning universal, and ki, or life force energy. To access its power, practitioners undergo an “attunement” process during classes taught by a Reiki master.

Reiki hasn’t been demonstrated to have any clear health-related benefits; however, as a complementary health approach it has the power to reduce stress, pain and anxiety for many individuals. When performed by trained practitioners it can help ease tension while having no side effects or risks associated with its use. A 2017 study published in “Complementary Therapies in Clinical Practice” determined that Reiki could be an effective tool in relieving anxiety related to cancer treatment for cancer patients.

Qigong

Qigong (pronounced chee-gung) is the foundation of Chinese medicine and encompasses moving meditation practices designed to maintain energy flow and balance. Meditative movements may be performed either standing or sitting up and are intended to engage all three aspects of self: body, mind and breath.

Qigong exercises are believed to stimulate the body’s natural energy, also known as qi or chi, which sustains all living things and maintains balance within. When this balance is disturbed or blocked by external factors like blocked arteries or nerves, health and vitality suffer greatly as does overall wellbeing.

Qigong practice can help people manage stress, increase energy levels and enhance sleep quality. It can also decrease pain associated with arthritis and heart disease symptoms as well as lower blood pressure; one study demonstrated this effect by showing how tai chi and qigong significantly lowered both systolic blood pressure (the amount your heart exerts with each beat) and diastolic pressure (what your heart creates at rest).

Qigong not only offers physical advantages, but its psychological effects are profound as well. Research on older adults suggests it increases their sense of control over daily life activities while improving emotional and social functioning; additionally it may help with relieving anxiety or depression, while improving mood in those suffering bipolar disorder.

Qigong can offer soothing and grounding benefits that are especially useful for people experiencing chronic pain, depression or anxiety. As it requires mindfulness practice and care to be properly performed by trained instructors, those experiencing these issues should use extreme caution in engaging with any new movement practice – including qigong. Before beginning any new movement practice such as this one. They should consult their healthcare provider first.

Music Therapy and Sound Healing

Music therapy has long been used as an avenue to build social bonds, foster emotional support, encourage creativity and aid healing. Studies have demonstrated its efficacy by helping reduce stress levels, raise moods and boost energy levels while decreasing pain intensity ratings and the need for medication.

Music therapy can also provide speech restoration for people recovering from traumatic brain injuries. Since singing originates on the right side of the brain, this can allow these individuals to bypass damage to the left-brain region that controls speech production. Music has also been found effective at helping children with behavioral and developmental disorders as well as cancer patients experiencing treatment – according to studies.

Music can help both ease anxiety and reduce medication usage while improving cognitive function in hospitalized patients. Studies have revealed how music helps strengthen connections between auditory and emotional regions of the brain, improving memory encoding and recall. Furthermore, music serves as a coping mechanism for older adults experiencing loneliness and isolation.

Live musical visits bring hope and comfort to patients and loved ones who spend their days in hospitals or end-of-life care facilities. These sessions help break up long days spent inside, providing comfort even during difficult times. Explore Harmony & Healing’s live musical visit program using videoconferencing technology that brings music directly to patients and their loved ones.
