Physiology

Scientific research provides this authoritative resource with an in-depth knowledge of energy medicine and how it works. Utilizing a multi-disciplinary approach, it documents the presence of energetic fields within the body, explores their production, and details how therapeutic applications may restore natural energy flows that help to balance physiology and heal.

This edition includes new chapters on The Living Matrix, with 10 views more accurately showing physiological and regulatory processes; updated chapters on Basic Physics simplify concepts related to electricity, magnetism, electromagnetism and resonance; while updated chapters on Acupuncture and related therapies showcase exciting research from prestigious laboratories around the world on anatomy, biophysics and physiology of an acupuncture meridien system.

Additionally, this book includes new chapters on Intuition and the Unconscious Mind and Trauma Energetics as well as a detailed Appendix.

Biophysics

Biophysics uses physical methods to study how biological systems function. Biophysicists study living cells and complex organisms using techniques like x-ray fluorescence, electron microscopy, super-resolution imaging and particle diffraction. They develop mathematical methods for helping understand biological structures and processes as well as developing medical imaging technologies such as MRIs, CAT scans and PET scans – as well as creating medical imaging technologies like these for medical imaging technologies such as MRIs or PET scans – often working at universities or government laboratories like Brookhaven-Argonne-Los Alamos-Naval Research Laboratories as well as private research institutes or institutes.

Biophysicists are specialists who combine elements from biology, chemistry and physics in their training. Their studies may encompass anything from cell signaling dynamics to protein formation and movement – some of the greatest discoveries have resulted from collaborative efforts between scientists trained in different disciplines; such as discovering DNA’s double helix.

Biophysics is growing quickly as scientists explore novel methods of investigating living organisms and their interactions with inorganic matter. These investigations allow us to reconsider traditional boundaries between living systems and inanimate matter and gain a greater understanding of why life differs from inorganic material.

Biophysics is a cross-disciplinary field that incorporates elements from physics, chemistry, biology and medicine in order to explain how life functions. Studies of biological systems dynamics are an integral component of this discipline and encompass various fields such as cell physiology (channelomics, electrophysiology and membrane permittivity), neurobiophysics (experimental and theoretical brain slicing, neural networks and mathematical modeling), molecular biophysics (protein folding and assembly, single molecule bioenergetics) and biochemical biophysics (nucleic acid and lipid structures). Biophysicists utilise engineering and computer science tools to address important biological problems. For instance, they play an integral part in medical imaging technology development as well as creating drugs targeting disease-causing proteins. Furthermore, they investigate microbial communities present throughout our planet while looking at ways to turn algae into fuels.

Psychology

Energy psychology is an emerging field with many therapists only recently discovering or adopting it as part of their practice. Like any psychotherapy approach, there are multiple perspectives and theoretical approaches – with energy healing therapies providing the unifying factor. Clinical trials have proven their efficacy by significantly reducing anxiety, pain and food cravings while long-term improvements were seen over a two-year follow up study period.

Energy psychology may not be without controversy, yet well-established principles involving electrical signaling, brain waves and electromagnetic fields have been identified as playing an integral part in producing rapid and long-lasting effects from its treatments. More esoteric mechanisms like subtle energies and quantum influences are being investigated as possible explanations for some of its remarkable changes observed through therapies.

Studies of acupuncture points, for instance, revealed that stimulating certain points sent signals directly to the amygdala and other limbic brain areas to instantly reduce threat arousal – suggesting acupoint tapping (the primary procedure used in energy psychology protocols) may have similar results as acupuncture in terms of their effects.

While psychological concepts derived from physics typically center on magnitude (measured in joules), psychological energy has developed from various theoretical constructs. Livneh points out that Freud’s theory of the “id” and the “ego” relies heavily on energetic concepts like drives, motivations, libido, and repression for its theory of personality development. He also refers to Kurt Lewin who borrowed force fields theory from physics and applied it to human behavior and Hans Selye who saw an organism’s finite supply of adaptive energy as related to its capacity to cope with stressors.
