# Are You a Natural Healer?

If you spend a lot of time in nature and have vivid dreams, it’s likely that you are a [natural healer](https://alsuprun.com/). You can bring your healing skills into service to the community of life and facilitate change from unhealthy patterns to healthy ones.

Holistic healing practices include alternative and complementary therapies. They are part of integrative healthcare, but they should not be treated as an alternative to pharmaceutical or surgical treatments.

## 1. You’re a natural healer

Do you find yourself promoting healing in others, whether it’s physical, emotional or spiritual? Do you have a deep intuition that guides you to help those who need it? If you answered yes to both of these questions, then you are a [natural healer](https://alsuprun.com/).

[![Rejuvenate your whole body & balance your health without medications - now remotely!](https://alsuprun.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/BioresonanceTopAd.png)](https://www.bioresonance.rent) You are deeply connected to energies that harbor healing powers and may even have dreams or premonitions of your own healing journey. You are often drawn to creative outlets like music, writing or visual art as a way of processing emotions. You know the beauty of nature and treat all life as sacred. You’re most tuned in when you’re surrounded by the wild spirals of our natural world and often feel like you are serving as a bridge between these realms.

You’re not like anyone else and often feel that you don’t quite fit in. You’re bridging the gap between the mainstream world and the culture that wants to be born into new consciousness and this can make you feel like a bit of a sacred rebel.

## 2. You’re sensitive

You may feel hurt more easily by what people say, and may take things more personally than others do. You also tend to notice things that other people don’t, like subtle smells, sounds and sights. Fortunately, this sensitivity isn’t a flaw or a weakness; it’s a part of your gift as a healer.

[![](https://alsuprun.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/ForeverYoungYouWannaBe.png)](https://alsuprun.com/services.html#Contact) Healers often score high on Elaine Aron’s “Highly Sensitive Person” scale, which identifies those who have sensory-processing sensitivity. This means they have a more complex inner life, tend to be more affected by caffeine and other stimuli, need extra downtime and are attuned to their environment.

Researchers are now starting to distinguish between different shades of sensitivity, including ease of excitation, low sensory threshold and aesthetic sensitivity. While ease of excitation and low sensory threshold have been associated with negative life outcomes (like anxiety, depression, poor attention to detail and difficulty describing and communicating emotions), studies of aesthetic sensitivity have shown that it is related to greater well-being. These findings suggest that, over time, we might learn to embrace the positive side of this trait, as well.

## 4. You’re not like anyone else

You think in shades of grey, and you deeply respect the interconnectedness of life. You believe in synchronicity more than coincidences. You’ve experienced major trauma in your life (loss of family, a near death experience, physical/sexual/emotional abuse, war, mental illness). You are drawn to the archetypes of a shaman, wise man or woman, witch, wizard/warlock and healer. You’re a feeler and you can pick up on people’s pain, wounds and demonic bondages. You’re a natural peacemaker between people. Animals and children gravitate toward you. You’re often tasked with being the confidant for those who are going through rough times.

When Healers treat diseases of the soul or spirit, they don’t just address symptoms, they look at underlying causes as well. They might work with eagle feathers or use other tools to get to the root of the problem. Traditional Healers also have spirit helpers that come in to assist them. They may talk about these helpers and what they do for them. They might even take tobacco as an offering to communicate with their spirit helpers.

## 5. You feel most at home in nature

You feel most in tune with the mountains, oceans, rivers and animals. You understand how much we depend on the natural world for survival, and how important it is to protect our planet.

You also find that nature is a place where you can connect to the divine. You can feel a strong sense of spirituality and often use your natural gifts to communicate with the universe, animals and other beings.

[![](https://alsuprun.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/RadionicMerch.png)](https://alsuprun.com/merch.html) Healers are multidimensional beings that dance between the seen and unseen worlds. Your ability to see and hear what’s going on in both realms is a powerful gift that helps you serve as a bridge between the mainstream culture and those who want to be born into a new consciousness.

Experience narratives that correlated strongly with the question “felt at home in nature” (>7 on Likert scale) were analyzed and coded for common dimensions by two independent investigators. Both hedonic and eudaimonic feelings were positively related to aesthetic wilderness experiences, but only hedonic feeling states were significantly associated with the overall question of “feeling at home in nature.” Eudaimonic feeling state were only marginally correlated with the overall question, and neither reached statistical significance in the forest-stormy or plateau-cold samples.

## 6. You have vivid dreams

Dreams can be very vivid, and they are a form of communication between the seen and unseen worlds. They may include animals, symbols, or metaphors. Healers often have animal totems as well, which serve as their guides. Dreams can also be very upsetting, which is why it’s important for healers to keep a regular sleep schedule and to practice good bedtime rituals.

However, vivid dreams aren’t always bad, and they shouldn’t be interpreted as such. Rather, they’re like “a conversation with the self that is a way of subconsciously communicating how you feel about your current circumstances, behaviors, goals, struggles and relationships,” therapist Leslie Ellis tells mbg. In fact, she notes, the more upsetting a dream is, the more important the message. And lucid dreaming is a great way to master skills, flex creativity and explore the subconscious.

## 8. You’ve always felt like you don’t quite belong

There are a number of reasons you may feel like an outsider. You could be in a genuinely unhealthy environment, or you might be different culturally, professionally, or spiritually. But sometimes it’s just because you were taught to expect exclusion long before anyone had a chance to include you. If you have a desire to connect with others, healing can help you safely experience belonging over time. Whether you want to be a doctor, work in a creative field, or simply care for animals, your healing journey can take many forms. It just starts with love. Always love. Always be in your power.
